The biggest positive for this hotel is location. Prati is a quieter neighborhood that is centrally located and full of great, authentic restaurants. The hotel itself was relatively affordable (at least during the shoulder season when we visited), which somewhat made up for several inconveniences. We stayed six nights in a room where the shower did not drain properly; after the first night, we had to turn off the shower every minute or so to prevent flooding. The AC/heat were also off in the rooms; while not uncommon across Europe, the fan also was off, and the lack of airflow was very uncomfortable at night. We tried opening the window, which helped with the temperature, but meant we had to breathe in cigarette smoke during the night. Finally, a laptop charger was broken by a member of housekeeping; we did not complain because it was more of an inconvenience than anything else, but I mention it here because I do think it was illustrative of a lack of care. Breakfast is skippable; convenient if included in your room fee, but not worth adding on.

Excellent location, near one of the city's shopping areas, just minutes from the Vatican and about a 20-minute walk from Via del Corso. Clean, welcoming, very quiet (despite its central location), and with a rooftop offering 360-degree views of Rome. Wide selection of restaurants in the immediate vicinity (just a few dozen meters). Abundant and reasonably varied breakfast. Qualified and attentive staff. Parking can be a problem. The adjacent one is quite expensive (like the rest of the area), often full, and has different opening hours on weekdays and holidays. Highly recommended. I'll be back.

We recently stayed at the Orazia Palace Hotel in Rome and overall had a really pleasant experience. The hotel itself is lovely, in a great part of the city, with a very good breakfast and a well-equipped gym. However, the biggest downside was the lack of air conditioning or any way to regulate the room temperature. Our room was extremely hot when we arrived — and this was in February. The only way to cool it down was to open the window, but doing so meant raising the automatic blind completely, leaving the room fully visible from outside. If you closed the window and blind, the room quickly became very warm again. This isn’t what we expected from a 4-star hotel, and it does make us wonder what the rooms would be like in the middle of summer. Overall, it was a nice stay, but we would only return if the rooms had proper air conditioning. If you’re planning a summer trip, it’s definitely something to think about.
