Oste del Castello Wellness & Bike Hotel

We stayed two nights at the four-star Hotel Oste del Castello using a Smartbox gift card. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing and fell short of the standards expected of a property of this category. The welcome was immediately cold and unprofessional. The first room assigned was on the top floor, with a window facing a wall and a bathroom with an extremely low ceiling, requiring numerous warning signs. For someone who is 1.90 m tall and has already reported health problems, the accommodations proved inadequate. Only after expressing our concerns were we assigned a second room. The following morning, the service continued to display a lack of attention to guests, starting with the reception staff. Breakfast was also poorly maintained: a cold environment, impersonal service, and neglected hygiene details, such as jars with obvious signs of tampering. That evening, upon returning to the hotel, the room was cold and lacked functioning heating, both in the air conditioning system and the bathroom radiator. Despite numerous reports and checks by the staff, the problem was not resolved. After over an hour of waiting, we were offered a further room change, which, however, presented the same problems. Tired from the day and the constant shuffling with luggage, we decided to stop and rest, forgoing further requests. In conclusion, the stay was characterized by disorganization, repeated problems with the service, and a general lack of customer service. Personally, I would not return to this property and would not consider it up to the standards of a four-star hotel. The rating provided is based solely on my personal experience.

We stayed at the Oste del Castello many years ago, and returned because of the wonderful memories we had. We stayed in the same room, the Suite, for €499.00 a night. The TV didn't work, nor did the WiFi. Water was pouring from the ceiling in the living room, coming from the shower I think was in the bedroom. The bathroom next to the shower room needs fixing. Overall, maintenance is lacking. The breakfast served in the room was plentiful, but not of the highest quality and poorly presented. Eggs and bacon were served cold. The welcome drink was subpar, the cheese canapés were rancid... I'm very sorry. It's not worth the €499.00 a night price tag. Disappointing. This review is to help you improve your services.
