Truly deserving of its 5 stars, first off super inclusive hotel probably the only one in Mauritius where you won't get treated differently for being non-european. Rooms are beautiful, spacious, amazing staff, especially the Indian team training on site. Food varies but great breakfast spread and some delicious curries at the buffet. Can improve on the daily activities as some weren't running whilst we were there. Love the ducks and resident dog on site! All in all definitely worth a stay, sea on the rugged side but worth the view and walks on the long stretch of beach.

I stayed here from November 10 to 15th. This resort is the worst place I have been to. Very bad experience overall. They are extremely racist. I will detail the worst experience we had and then the other bad experiences. The absolute worst experience at this resort was our dinner reservation at The Plantation Club. It is their fine dining restaurant. I reserved a table 3 days in advance. We booked a 7:30 pm reservation. We went there by 7:20 pm. The host did not greet us upon seeing us. We greeted him to get his attention. He then showed us the poolside and told us there are no more tables there. He then proceeded to show us the worst three tables which are right in front of the open kitchen where nobody else was seated. We felt very odd, but we initially believed that it may be true that there are no other tables outside. We chose the better of the tables he showed us. Immediately, after we were seated, a white couple walked in. He pleasantly asked them outside/poolside and seated them. We then asked the waiter who came to serve that this is wrong. It is explicit racism. He said that it was table for 4 and some other excuses. After that there were more people that walked in and all except us were promptly seated pool side. Notably, we were the only brown couple that day. It was a clear and explicit display of racism. We felt very humiliated. Now, the second worst experience was on the day of checkin. The lady that checked us in treated us very badly. They made us wait for no reason while she was chatting with her colleagues. Finally, while she took sometime to explain us the things at the resort she had to interrupt herself to serve other important clients. This was on day one and right at the time of checkin. It was a big red flag. We did not feel welcomed at all. We felt like we were unwanted guests. They make it very obvious. The third bad experience again the day of checkin. As soon as we checked in, we ordered room service. It was a long flight. We wanted to have some food and have some sleep. We waited two hours. There was no room service delivered. We followed up 2-3 times and after 2 hours they cancelled the order. After this, we understood something about this place is wrong. We planned our days in such a way that we leave the resort at 7:30 am and do some activities outside and come in the evening and rest. We did not avail any of the resort services or use any amenities except the room and food services. One day before checkout, we thought why not book the fine dining at The Plantation Club and they taught us a good lesson. The next bad experience was one day before the check out. I wanted to settle any bill a day in advance because we had an early flight. The bill was totally wrong. Each item price that we ordered for in room service was wrong. I showed them the prices in their app in comparison to the bill. Finally I gave up and paid the wrong bill because they were making me wait for a long time. Finally, I requested them to get me a cab to the airport on the day of departure as I had a 9 am flight. The cab was supposed to come at 6 am. We reached the reception on time. There was no cab. We had to wait another 30 minutes for them to arrange a cab. They did do that and we made it to the airport on time. Overall experience at this resort was very humiliating and bad. It is like you pay and buy problems to suffer. Avoid this resort. I do not recommend this. I do not wish anybody else suffer like this. I was reading through others comments and there are other people who faced similar racist experience at The Plantation Club restaurant. Be careful. Avoid humiliation.
