The pros: beautiful building, spotlessly clean, large rooms The cons: lack of warmth, terrible breakfast for a 4-star hotel (served in a basket with no other options) * Disappointing for a 4-star hotel

The palace is charming, in a great location. The staff was very helpful. A nice birthday welcome gesture. Cons: When we arrived, the room was very cold. It might have been a good idea to heat it up before the guests arrived, as it took a while to warm up (we were there in January). There was no heating in the bathroom, so it was cold all the time. And the breakfast. It was a disaster. How can you give people underbaked rolls? The cheapest cold cuts and cheese (in a country famous for them), vegetables only by special order. Everything was in plastic packaging. Bad, tasteless, poor quality, and as cheap as possible. At our request, the staff tried to remedy the situation, but it was still a cost-cutting measure – instead of cheap, canned, and bad cold cuts, we received another, canned, and bad cold cut, only this one looked a bit better, but the ingredients were still terrible. The yellow cheese was stiff and simply unappetizing. We were given cottage cheese, but cottage cheese alone, without any herbs or spices, is not good food. In this situation, the hotel should completely eliminate breakfast, as it left a terrible impression on us. Secondly, breakfast in a picnic basket, "to make you feel at home" – that's why I travel, not to feel at home. The room wasn't designed for eating in; a tiny cafe table and eating from the couch, plus cleaning up afterward – it wasn't fun. And we only learned about this breakfast option on the day of arrival. I would have given it 3 stars, but due to the staff's efforts, I'm giving it 4. However, I think the price is inadequate for the hotel's standard. (Yes, the white stuff in the photo is the "bread" from breakfast 😳)

Pilar and Miguel's service was outstanding, but the place seemed a bit run down.
