Great weekend. The hotel was excellent in every way: location, rooms (very comfortable, spacious, and the bathroom was spectacular with a bathtub), and service. Special mention to Joaquín in the restaurant; a 10 out of 10 for him and his team. If we have to return to Úbeda, we would definitely stay here again.

Hotel located in the center of Úbeda. Given its 5-star GL rating, I believe that, due to its quality and service, this hotel doesn't deserve either the Grand Luxury or 5-star designation. The hotel desperately needs a complete renovation. To mention just a few details: the carpeting throughout the hotel is shameful, not to mention disgusting. The furniture is very old, the walls and baseboards are peeling, and the lobby sofas are covered in stains. The rooms are spacious, but the furniture is old, and having the sink and bathtub integrated into the room feels odd, though that's just my personal opinion. The shower walls had mold, and the tiled floor is painted over. In short, the maintenance is very poor. Both the breakfast and the dishes offered in the restaurant are not what you'd expect from a 5-star GL hotel, neither in terms of product quality, variety, nor service. (I reiterate, I'm evaluating a 5-star Grand Luxury hotel.) The staff is quite friendly. The spa: The temperature in all the rooms felt cold. We could barely use the jet pool because of this, and the hot tub was far too hot. Overall, it was an uncomfortable experience. Reservations are required and it costs €35, so I don't recommend it because it's not worth it. I've stayed in 4-star hotels where the indoor heated pool and sauna are free and you can use them whenever you want. Seeing that many reviews give it a 5/5 rating, I get the impression I stayed in a generic hotel, because I haven't had the experience of staying in a 5-star Grand Luxury hotel, and I can assure you I've stayed in several.
