Park Hotel Suisse & Spa

Our stay at this hotel was great. The location is perfect, right behind a busy street with lots of shops and dining options. The staff at the front desk were all friendly and helpful in the check-in and check-out process. They even went above and beyond to contact one of the ski mountains when one of our party members lost their watch there (which they eventually found and contacted the hotel). The spa staff kept the facility clean and when we let them know that one of the saunas was not hot enough they fixed it in a timely manner. The lobby is cozy with comfortable seats. They’ll provide you with lockers for your ski equipment. The breakfast wasn’t anything special but we enjoyed it. The only complaint is that walls are a little thin and we could hear our neighbors through them. Other than that, 10/10 stay.

My experience at the Park Suisse Hotel was generally disappointing and left me with an impression of unprofessionalism. From the moment I arrived and throughout the week, I was struck by the complete lack of politeness at reception: here, you come and go without being greeted, which immediately gives the impression of very limited service and poorly trained staff. Upon arrival, they tried to sell us our room, booked a month in advance, as "the best in the hotel," even though we had simply requested a room with a view of Mont Blanc. In reality, the view overlooked a square. The receptionist's pitch seemed primarily designed to prevent us from complaining, which gave the impression of manipulation. Breakfast was very disappointing for its price (€24). It was basic, and the scrambled eggs were inedible. I asked for an omelet, for which I was charged an extra €5, but incredibly, the "chef" wasn't even capable of making it! During my stay, the only way I could eat eggs was by making my own hard-boiled eggs. Another very surprising point: the hotel has a spa, but doesn't provide towels. You have to use the only towel in the room. When we asked for an extra towel so we could shower after the spa, we were told it would cost €4 per towel! This left a very bad impression. The rooftop spa is very beautiful, but impractical: you have to walk through a freezing cold corridor to get to the outdoor jacuzzi. The only day I went, I got sick. The hotel manager is friendly, but only available at the beginning and end of your stay. Day-to-day, the staff are neither hospitable nor professional. On the other hand, the rooms are comfortable, the location is excellent, the spa staff are lovely, and the chambermaid, Monaicha, is remarkably professional. Despite these positive points, the hotel really doesn't live up to its price or expectations.
