This hotel's location isn't as good as the Meriton serviced apartments we stayed at before. Although it's closer to Darling Harbour, the surrounding area isn't as lively anymore. The hotel room was ready by 2 PM. We left our luggage at the hotel, and it was brought to our room when we returned. The service was excellent; everyone on the first floor, from the front desk to the luggage department, was very nice. The building isn't large. Our room faced the expressway, but it wasn't noisy; the soundproofing was excellent. The room's decor was simple, and it was quite spacious. Two people didn't feel cramped at all, and there were two queen beds. The bed was a good size, and the sheets, blankets, and mattress were all very comfortable and clean. The room had a coffee machine and a small refrigerator, and the lighting was quite bright. The bathroom was also spacious, with a bathtub and strong water pressure. However, the sink drained slowly, and the shower water splashed everywhere, making showering a bit difficult. I ended up not washing my hair. We got a breakfast discount when we checked in, so it was only AUD 30 per person. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was more than enough, and we enjoyed it, especially the various gluten-free breads and cakes. Despite this, the staff in the lobby were all very friendly and welcoming, especially the concierges, who were humorous and witty, making conversations with them very pleasant. My expectations for Parkroyal were quite high, but I was slightly disappointed. Overall, I'd give it a slightly below four stars.
