Pavezzo Country Retreat

Without further ado: an absolute dream! We had a room with a small private pool on two floors. This small hotel in the small mountain village transports you to another world. Very quiet, traditional. We've never had such a beautiful, authentic hotel room before. The breakfast was absolutely adequate by Greek standards, with many local products. There's a small taverna nearby where you can sit with many Greeks in the evening. Simple cuisine, but very tasty and inexpensive. The parking situation is sometimes "tense" - you can always find a parking space, although you might have to walk 150 meters. The staff (four women) had everything under control, unobtrusive, but always there when you needed something or had a question. Absolutely amazing!

The concept of the Pavezzo Country Retreat with restored ancient stone houses and its sustainability practices is basically OK, but in our opinion you shouldn't stay at this accommodation for longer than 3-4 days because then you'll notice everything that's not OK about it. is: we arrived and went up a staircase below the accommodation that had no railings at all. Other railings in this complex are only minimally secured. There are nails, screws, and pins sticking out everywhere that could injure someone. There are green waste, piles of rubble, and plastic waste all around the accommodation. At the pool, there are railings made of old, rotten, and nailed-up branches (some of which are already loose). If someone trips there, they will fall through these so-called railings into the abyss. The pool terrace has slots that are too wide, so that one could get caught in them with one's chair legs and fall over. In the breakfast room, a wooden chair broke and a wooden table collapsed while we were having breakfast. My wife suddenly sank about 10 cm into a wooden floorboard while walking to the buffet, twisted her ankle, and almost fell. The Avra accommodation is a completely run-down apartment. The entrance door drags along the floor, so that you can only open it with great force. The door lock was broken, so that during our absence, anyone could enter the The apartment could have been broken into (it was repaired by a carpenter after we informed them), the wooden furniture was partially damaged, there was a loose banister on the stairs, holes in the window curtains, broken fly screens, the door of the completely broken wardrobe was warped and therefore couldn't be closed, there was a mouse nest in the wardrobe drawer including urine and mouse droppings (disgusting), the toilet had an old and rotten wooden seat, the electrical system was open in the bathroom (by the fan), the shower hose was torn, only a trickle came out of the shower, there was no shower screen, the lock cover of the bathroom door was completely broken and was still lying around in the bathroom, we made the mistake of renting there for 14 days, we couldn't sleep for 4 nights because we were bombarded with live music (from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.) from the church square and the village square, the parking situation is also a disaster, if you come back later there are hardly any free spaces, overall we are all for sustainability, but when cleanliness, safety and order are not taken into account and all furnishings are removed from the bulky waste Unfortunately, we absolutely cannot recommend this accommodation! Finally, we must note that paper is not allowed in the toilet; everything must be collected in a plastic waste bin in the bathroom (disgusting)! The price-performance ratio is simply not right; the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. The local tavern and cafe are worth mentioning.***

Beautifully situated in the village: charming accommodation with friendly hosts and a delicious breakfast. The private pool was also fantastic and cleaned daily. Parking in the village can be a bit tricky, but there's usually space if you keep right and follow the "Parking" sign. From there, it's only a two-minute walk to Pavezzo. Walk through the village square and turn right at the Greek flag. Tip: Don't use Google Maps navigation, as you'll end up coming from the other side where parking is prohibited. Navigate to the parking lot in the village.
