I stayed here on my birthday. A room that was already fully booked suddenly opened up on my birthday, so I changed my schedule and stayed there. It turned out to be a great experience. The sky was clear that day, so I saw many stars. Lake Tekapo was beautiful.

We discovered numerous bugs in my daughter’s bed. We asked to be moved, but the resort was full. The manager came and personally changed the bedding, but there was no offer to compensate us for this horrible experience. Waiving the room charge would have been the appropriate response.

The resort is not "lakeside" and does not really have an attractive view of the lake. However, the rooms are well apppointed, if somewhat pricey. Staff is helpful and friendly.
