We stayed at the Quinta Perestrello for a week in early December and stayed in a pool view room on the pool level. The Quinta Perestrello was refurbished in late 2024 and our room was excellent, very clean with modern facilities but a tasteful classic villa decor, the aircon was quiet and the rooms seemed well soundproofed. The weather wasn't really warm enough for swimming but the pool was nice and the gardens were well kept, there was road noise when you sat outside as there is a fairly busy road just below the hotel grounds, but we never heard any noise from inside the room once the doors were closed. The Quinta Perestrello doesn't have it's own restaurant so you go to the hotel Miramar next door which is a five minute walk via a connecting walkway and internal corridors. The breakfast was really good, a great selection of cold buffet food and you ordered hot food off a menu - all of which was very good quality and nicely presented. The Miramar hotel also had a larger outdoor pool and an indoor pool which we had access to, I went in the indoor pool and it was clean with pleasant decor. The gym and sauna/jacuzzi/steam room were in a third adjoining hotel - The Village Resort - these weren't very good, the gym was very basic with tired equipment, the sauna was broken and the steam room and jacuzzi were not very hot, plus the building looked in need of renovation. The main building of the Quinta Perestrello had a nice lounge/library you could sit in and a pool table in another room, both were very tastefully decorated but there was no bar in the hotel - for us that wasn't a problem. The staff in all three hotels were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Overall we really enjoyed staying in the smaller 'boutique' setting of the Quinta yet still able to access the facilities of a larger hotel - but some people might not like the walk to breakfast or the lack of bar, in all honesty I've walked further to breakfast in a big hotel so a five minute walk was no problem.

It was a very pleasant stay. Great breakfast, lovely room, very friendly staff, and a bus stop right outside, plus it's only 1.5 km to the old town. Thank you, we'll be back!
