Pig Dive Hostel

For me this is a 5/5. It is not right at the beach but they offer a free shuttle to it and frankly it is just a 15 minute walk. I really liked having the closets outside (no waking up due to your roommate deciding to repakc his bag at 7am). Chill atmosphere, clean and a knife rooftopish bar to have a beer and wine down after some diving. There are some cockerels gong off at 5am but this is in all of Moalboal. Would stay again.

I stayed three nights at Pig Dive Hostel and it was a wonderful experience! Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by John. I slept in a four-person mixed dorm, which was super clean and tidy. The bed was wonderful, with a good mattress, two pillows, and a comfortable duvet. There's a small locker behind the bed with a key, and a large locker next to the bed, also with a key. A bedside lamp, charging stations, and good curtains to close off the bed complete the experience. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the Wi-Fi was also very good. Outside the room, there are three toilets, sinks, and three showers with hot water. Everything was clean and well-maintained. There's also plenty of space to hang laundry. After two nights, they asked if they should make my bed—how thoughtful! Downstairs, there's a kitchen, refrigerators, and seating. There's a cozy seating area on the roof terrace. You can buy drinks, and a free beach towel is provided. They offer a free shuttle with Carl to 7-Eleven and the beach, with scheduled times from 8:00 AM to 9:45 PM. The shuttle gets you there in no time, as walking might be a bit too far for many. You send a message and they're ready at the agreed-upon time—really great! Breakfast is available for a fee, and hot meals are also available from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Gary cooks fantastically; I tried the vegetarian noodles and the chicken noodles, both incredibly delicious and lovingly prepared. A huge compliment to his cooking skills! The staff is cheerful, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Aleta makes sure everything runs smoothly at night when no one's around, which gives a nice feeling of security. The hostel is cozy and sociable; you can easily meet other travelers, but it's not a party hostel, so you can sleep peacefully. The roosters and dogs in the neighborhood might have had their own parties, both day and night, but that wasn't a problem for me at all! 😄 A huge thank you to the entire team, from reception, housekeeping, and the kitchen to the shuttle staff—everyone makes your stay truly special. Pig Dive Hostel Moalboal is clean, comfortable, sociable, and friendly, with excellent facilities and a top-notch team. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Moalboal!!!

Everything was a perfect 10/10. The four-person room may look small, but there's a large personal locker inside. The bedding was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The common area has free bottled water and a shared refrigerator with an induction stove, making it perfect for a quick ramen. There are three showers and three bathrooms, and the hot water is always available. They clean frequently, so it's kept clean. The staff are always smiling and friendly. There's a separate drying area for laundry after swimming, which was really nice. All the beds were fully booked, so I was sad to leave after only two nights. Best of all, they offer hourly shuttles to Panagsama and the 7-Eleven Cebu bus station, which was incredibly convenient. It's a paradise for solo backpackers. I'll definitely stay here again next time I travel solo.
