I do NOT recommend the excursions from Cancun Adventures Ricardo Delgado, located outside the hotel entrance. They charged me an exorbitant price for a Benito Juarez excursion that left much to be desired. The food was just a sandwich, and the guides were unprofessional. They dropped me off on Isla Mujeres and told me to get on my own while I rushed off to find more clients. In the end, they finally picked us up to leave. I asked for a partial refund, but they refused. At the hotel, they told me, "You've been overcharged; it's not right," but they didn't resolve the issue. Since they have the tour operators outside, they could at least try to mediate.

This was my first time going to Mexico, and my third time doing an all inclusive vacation. Platinum princess yucatan was by far one of my best travel experiences. It was a reunion boys trip, and we stayed in the adults only area, but we were allowed access to the amenities at the other two resorts as well, sunset princess and riviera maya. The food was amazing. So many different restaurants, so many options, and the service was top notch. The servers did whatever they could to accommodate us and ensure our dining experience was a positive one. I don’t remember a single moment when I was not full, the food was just too good. When I travel with friends, we tend to keep to ourselves. We do our own thing and don’t normally partake in activities, or interact with other guests. This trip was different thanks to a very special activity coordinator, Luna. She is a wonderful person and deserves all the praise in the world. She’s sweet, friendly, jovial, and made our experience go from great to amazing. Our first morning there, we were late for archery, but she stayed behind to accommodate us which was very kind of her, as she didn’t have to and I’m sure it added more work to her schedule. Afterwards, she would encourage us to participate in the various events being held at the resort. From the foam party challenges, to playing horseshoes on the beach, and to simply chatting and giving suggestions for places to visit in the city, Luna was the best. Her smile and positive energy are infectious. We were very fortunate to encounter her so early in our trip, because her gracious attitude and exuberance had a way of getting us to come out of our shell and participate in various activities and interact with other resort guests. Another special mention goes to Jacinto, the over night bartender. He was so much fun and so kind. He was easy to chat with and had a way about himself that turned every simple night cap into a party. He gave us suggestions for restaurants to try in the city, and sites to see. He made the best drinks, and even let me try his special ‘pick me up’ spice mix. Tajin and tobasco. One hit of that will wake up a hibernating bear lol, and get you primed for more tequila shots. Whenever people talk about an all inclusive resort, a common question is, would you go back? That’s an easy one for platinum princess yucatan. Definitely. The food was great. The drinks were great. The atmosphere was great. And the people, were simply the best.

We have just returned. Some of the team were excellent Pierro sales of Coco Bongo tickets and generally funny snd friendly round our pool. Luna and Marr from the entertainment team were amazing and actually made the holiday night and day. Restaurant teams were a big hit and miss. Beach bar great food and friendly service. Watch out for the little furry animals as we’re a little vicious when it came to wanting your lunch. The sushi restaurant stood out the most for us. Great food and live cooking. The hotel was clean. Take trousers. They have a rule of long trousers for men. Seems a bit silly in such heat and also women can wear shorts. Also some of the waiters specifically in the steak restaurant didn’t want to take our booking unless we paid extra for wine. We did complain and it was sorted by the manager but still a little out of order. Over all a great holiday made by the pool and entertainment team.
