The location of this hotel is absolutely unbeatable, you are right on the ocean! The hotel is CLEAN. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The food is good, especially the breakfast, which is a full breakfast. This is a smaller hotel which we personally prefer over the big all inclusive resorts because of the personality of the place. We highly recommend Playa Azul and definitely will return. Bonus, the quaint and cozy and perfect Lobster House is directly across the street. Extra Bonus, the on site spa is wonderful!

This location is unbeatable. Our room was so close to the ocean it honestly felt like we were right on top of it — we could have thrown a baseball straight into the water. Waking up to the sound and view of the ocean every day was incredible. We loved our room, especially the private jacuzzi on the balcony, which was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and exactly what we were hoping for. The only reason for four stars instead of five is the food, which was just average. We did rent a car, which made getting to and from town easy and helped us save on taxi costs. Overall, this was a fantastic stay, and we would absolutely book here again without hesitation.

We paid a terrible price: 200 pesos for entry, and a waiter told us we could only be in a certain area of the beach. This is discriminatory. You can't walk along the beach, only in the area with nothing but rocks. It's awful, and this is what one Mexican does to another. Let's hope he learns from others what they do to tourists (Tulum).
