Absolutely unprofessional staff at this property from the general manger to a front desk representative. When a concern regarding safety was presented to the front desk and the general manager it was met with rudeness and scepticism which was shocking. This would not be a location that I would ever recommend and will continue to share this unpleasant experience via social media

It is on a slope... Unless you take the cable car, will be challenging to climb up and down daily. Location is good as you hit union square down the hill.

The hotel is old and has its own history; however, it doesn't have any housekeeping staff. We were given a room on the third floor and had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs because the wing where our room was located doesn't have elevators. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room had a bad smell when we arrived, but I think almost all hotels in San Francisco suffer from the same problem. We aired it out by opening windows, and the air conditioning and heating worked very well. There were extra blankets in the room. Overall, the experience was quite nice.
