Location great & their service. Rooms nice but the cleaner didn't change linen for reasons not known & that makes one not to be free with utensils to use.

We visited this hotel for a meal only and were unfortunately very disappointed with the overall experience. The food quality was not up to standard. The bolognese appeared watery, under-portioned, and lacked depth or care in preparation. My steak was, quite honestly, the toughest piece of meat I have ever been served — to the point where swallowing it was a challenge. I had very clearly requested only steak and salad — no sauce and no sides — as I am following a strict meal plan. I specifically asked that the sides not be included at all. Despite this, the meal arrived with extras. What I assumed was salad dressing turned out to be pepper sauce, which I only realised after pouring it over the salad. The salad itself was billed as an add-on. The unwanted sides were packed into a takeaway and given to a homeless person on our way home, which I was happy to do. Unfortunately, I had already tasted some of what I should not have, which spiked my blood sugar and turned the evening into a write-off, including an unplanned dessert. Service was slow, and we waited a long time for our waiter throughout the evening. My mom was also served the incorrect drink on the second round — it was not the Bells she ordered, was noticeably darker, came with cucumber she did not want, and was ultimately left untouched. We felt uncomfortable complaining at the time, as it felt as though we were not being properly understood or that our concerns were not a priority — possibly because we were not hotel guests. This created an awkward dynamic that made it easier to leave disappointed than to escalate the issue in the moment. We took quite some time choosing where to eat and had high expectations when settling on this venue. Sadly, the experience did not justify that decision and was a significant let-down. This review is shared as constructive feedback. There are clear gaps in food execution, order accuracy, and service attentiveness that, if addressed, could materially improve the guest experience — including for walk-in diners.

Traveling to Cape Town from Johannesburg and used this hotel as one of my stops for the roadtrip. You get great value for money by staying near the CBD and for the bar/restaurant that is at your disposal for even more accessibility. I will definitely be staying here again and eat breakfast with the peacocks 🦚
