Pytloun Wellness Hotel Hasištejn

14 days ago we visited the Wellness Hotel Pytloun Hasištejn. The visit to this hotel was associated with an experience - lunch in an igloo. On the way to the igloo, the first disappointment. No one informs you that you will go through a construction site and a muddy meadow. The food is otherwise very good and the staff is nice. After lunch, we went to check in. The reception is part of the bar counter in the restaurant. If you don't get a welcome drink right after you get your suitcase, you probably don't have the right to it. Even though we were assured that we could have it with dinner, in the end we were charged for this drink. We booked a table for dinner, got the room key and went to check in. It was a bit of a struggle. Room number 308 didn't seem to exist. On the right side of the sign, rooms 307 ended and rooms 312 began on the left... so where is 308? Finally, we looked around. Disappointment number two came. You expect a certain level from a 4* hotel, but this was more of a weak 3*. The equipment in the room was more of an eyesore than a functional one and the bathroom equipment was broken. We wanted to visit the wellness area, but after 5 minutes we left. Dirt and broken tiles on the floor, which were covered with a bath mat. We arrived as a couple without children, so for dinner they sat us in a room next to the restaurant, right next to the children's corner, where in my opinion there should have been more families with children, but they sat in the main part of the restaurant and the children ran back and forth. And you really want that during dinner. The next day when you leave, they will also charge you a fee for parking at the hotel. I also wrote this review on Booking, through which I booked the accommodation. The next day the manager called me to ask what was so bad that I wrote this review. He offered me financial compensation, which I accepted and asked me if I would delete this review, saying that the new hotel manager would be motivated by better results. I deleted the review, but the financial compensation did not arrive on the account. If the hotel management treats clients like this to get a better rating, then that is disappointment number three. I can only say for myself that I will never recommend Pytloun hotels again or to my friends.

Excellent staff, everyone was very nice and helpful. The room could use a little refresh, but the room was comfortable and beautifully clean.

The breakfast buffet was excellent and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. There was a great variety, including fresh fruit, juice, porridge, and even waffles. Everything was well presented and regularly refilled. The service staff was also very friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the stay. The room was very clean and the hotel itself is in good condition. The location is beautiful, with a castle nearby that is nice to visit. There is also a bus connection (15 min car drive) to Prague (about 1 hour and 30 minutes), and Karlsbad is perfect for a day trip. Unfortunately, the wellness area was very disappointing. The sauna (both the regular sauna and the infrared sauna) and the whirlpool were good, but there were only four loungers available for all guests. The pool was dirty, the floor was not clean, and some of the tiles were broken or worn. The shower area in the wellness section was also very run-down, with a floor that looked old and poorly maintained. Even parts of the ceiling looked damaged and neglected. The refreshments in the wellness area were also not very appealing — just water in a bucket, which felt careless and not very inviting. Overall, I can recommend the hotel for the rooms, service, breakfast, and the great location. However, the wellness area does not meet the standards of a wellness hotel and definitely needs improvement.
