Great place 😤no breakfast 🥞

Hello, Let me begin by saying I never complain or leave bad reviews. However, My recent stay with my daughter at the Quality Inn Lakeland North on Saturday November 23. We checked into the hotel before going to dinner and a concert. I have travelled extensively, and am aware that Choice Hotels are a medium grade hotel. However, we were assigned Room #402 and had to pay a $100 deposit and a $4 cleaning and sanitization fee. That's a first for me. We got to our room, the hallways were disgusting, dirty, dust filled. In our room, the toilet did not flush, the bedside lamp did not work, and the TV didn't work. We were heading out to our dinner, so we let the young lady at the front desk know and she said she would take care of it. We ended up coming back around 1:00 am. There was a young man at the desk, I asked if our room had been looked at, he looked at a clipboard and said, not sure. Let me know if there is still a problem in your room. We went to our room, nothing had been done. I called the front desk, he said I'll come up with keys to your new room (after he told me they were full). We then went to room #304. The hallway was even more disgusting. We were tired and just wanted to sleep. The TV in the pictures is what we had, with no remote, and the guy at the desk couldn't find the remote. We went to sleep, only to be awakened by construction noise at 8:00 am. We got up and decided to get the hell out of there. It was then that my daughter noticed the blood stain on the bed skirt of my bed and I took pics. If your hotel is under construction, why are you still open? It makes no sense. I met a man in the elevator and he just shook his head and said "unbelievable". I showed the pics to the lady at the front desk, she looked unimpressed and handed me the business card for the manager, as it was Sunday. I believe I should be compensated in the full amount that I paid for this stay. I should have looked closer at reviews, seems like this is a common complaint. I have sent an email to the manager of this hotel and also the CEO of Choice Hotels and have not received a response. So I will continue to warn others and hope someone will notice. Do better, Choice Hotels. I will await my refund. Thank you, Melanie Swanson

We booked the executive suite because I also work for choice hotels and have been a platinum member prior to so I thought I knew what to expect. Sadly, I was mistaken… we were happily greeted by the front desk staff member at check in who gave us the keys to the room. Upon entering the room we was so tired as it was almost 2am that we took a shower and fell asleep. We noticed on the first shower that it was like warm water but assumed because they were busy the water hasn’t had a chance to heat up but by night 2 it was colder. The room condition was falling apart and had no working coffee maker, no phone, no toilet paper, no do not disturb sign, or a comfortable bed. Which considering there was long term guests due to FEMA they were all too loud for us to get sleep anyways. I slept better in my car on the way around Florida traffic. We seen the renovation signs so we overlooked it because we weren’t going to be in the room long and as annoying as loud guests are you can’t blame the hotel. We finally had enough by the third and final night the when the shelf in the shower fell. We asked Natalie at the front desk who was so sweet and very helpful to change rooms and the second room we got was better much quieter and more comfortable. Would I recommend the place sure for a night or two it’s ok as long as you request the bottom rooms or they have finished renovations and removed long term residents. Note the trash had been there for days till I brought it to attention in day 2!
