Quality Inn Lone Pine Near Mount Whitney

Unbeknownst to us, our room was directly adjacent to minors. In fact the entire floor was reserved for a high-school group, except our two rooms. We received no buffer and no notification about this. Of course, there were noise issues from midnight until the teens finally slept close to 1 am. Sadly no one trained the night shift and when asked about contacting the chaperones, the response was "that is not how it works" and instead there only "solution" was for them to call the offending high-school students. What a joke! For my lack of sleep, I received a $15 credit.

Booked this on the way up to Mammoth for a holiday weekend as a quick overnight stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable enough. Gentleman working the night shift came off as extremely uninterested and rude which ruined the mood at check-in. There's construction going upstairs which is very loud and we were not made aware of it before/during. Would stay again in a pinch but I much prefer the Best Western a bit further down the street.

Convenient location near the Alabama Hills. Waking up to a fabulous view is a good start to your day. If you don't wake up to construction noise, grinding, hammering above you. When we booked the room, the website mentioned nothing about renovations on the top floor during our stay. Neither did the front desk employee when we checked in at 7:00 pm. But when we woke up, we surely found out! The grinding and hammering was noisy! When we went upstairs to see what was happening, the kind construction worker said that they have been renovating for "a while now" and will be continuing for a while. He wondered why the hotel did not notify us in advance. That was my question, too! When we questioned the front desk employee on duty in the morning, she said that we could not receive a discount since we had used our reward points for our stay. Well, how about that! Great way to treat loyal Choice Rewards members. Advance notice of construction would have given us a choice to stay at the Best Western down the road instead. My hips and lower back hate the bed we slept in. We opted for two queen beds, in case one wasn't comfortable, we could sleep in the other one. Neither were. I ached and woke up several times, changing from one bed to the other, trying to get comfortable. Don't trust whoever said in previous reviews that their beds are comfy. And I highly question if "two queens" is actually "two doubles" because they are not as big as my queen mattresses at home. If the Best Western isn't sold out next time, I will stay there for sure. Not at this place.
