Quality Inn Slidell I-10

I travel to New Orleans for business almost every weekend, and I am not usually the type to leave reviews, but it's well deserved, the information will help others, and I think since I've stayed here numerous times going on a year now, I'm well qualified to give an assessment -- this is the best motel in the greater New Orleans area. In my book worth the commute. Every single person who works the front desk is gracious and a shining example of hospitality. I'm physically disabled, and sometimes other places don't care about my limitations, but they've been so accommodating on multiple occasions in multiple ways. It's safe and quiet. The rooms are always clean and smell nice, the furnishings are new, the property is well maintained. Gorgeous pool area. I've never encountered a single bug inside of a room -- and that's not an easy feat in Louisiana, pests are everywhere, they just get inside, like it happens even to the best of them. I've found giant roaches and spiders in the high end hotels in New Orleans, my daughter and I woke up with mystery bites twice at an upscale motel, but never an issue here. Convenient location off of i10, right next to a Walmart like 5min walk, 1 min drive, within 5-10 minutes of dozens of shopping plazas. Also, there's a good Mexican restaurant, and a nice bar and hookah lounge on property if you don't want to leave. This place is worth more than motels that charge $30-50 more. The only possible criticism I can come up with is the mattress is too firm for my back. I had spinal fusion done so I can't rate them like a normal person. They're not delapidated, just on the firm side. I keep a thin foam egg crate with my work gear I got at Walmart which has more than made up for the price difference. Every time I look into mixing it up by staying in town, I end up back here because it's the best value, and I know what I'm getting. I used to stay at the Maison St Charles when I could afford it, but there were just too many issues for it to cost as much as it does. One weekend was the worst experience at a hotel I've ever had in my life, on my birthday. I would have had a better weekend here ✔️
