We called around to several hotels in the area with pools to find one with a warm enough pool to take our young baby swimming. After confirming with the front desk that the pool was kept at 90 degrees, we booked two nights to have a little getaway and use the pool for a couple days. Upon arrival, we found our room to be infested with bugs in the bathroom. We told the front desk and they switched us to a different room, which wasn’t as good as the first one but thankfully had no bugs. Shortly after arrival we went to use the pool and it ended up being way colder than 90 degrees, not warm enough to safely swim with our baby. We went to the front desk and checked out immediately. The front desk staff was able to refund our second night, however they said we needed to get in touch with the manager to try and get a full refund. After a couple of weeks of trying to get in touch with the manager, he had no apologies and told us that the pool can’t go higher than 82 degrees and all of their staff know this. He was not apologetic at all, even when letting him know about the issue with the bug infestation. He said his staff wouldn’t have said it was kept at 90, yet that’s exactly what they did. We booked there under false information provided by their staff, yet he would not refund us. We were only at the hotel a couple of hours and our hard earned money went wasted. The manager was extremely rude on the phone and did not offer any solutions to try and ease our frustration. If you appreciate good customer service, I advise against booking at this hotel, as the staff is lead by someone who would benefit from a lesson in customer service. I will be reaching out to Choice Hotels as well.
