RACO D'EN PEPE

The rooms are way to small, 6m² for 3 people. There is only one Power outlet. The rooms are dirty, looks like it wasn't cleaned in ages. The mattresses are hard and uncomfortable and I bet there are bugs on there. Don't even get me started on the bathroom: dirty, floor is wet, shower is dirty and there are hair in there, toilet dirty and Water leaks out. It's not worth the any price. I'd rather sleep on the floor. I'd give 0 stars if I could!

Honestly, this place captivated me and made me unwind. Far from mass-produced resorts, the modernity of Costa Brava hotels, or the virtues of an all-inclusive, this accommodation has something hard to find anywhere else: a service that borders on family and exceptional human quality. From the first day I arrived, I felt at home. It's a window into nostalgia, a tribute to the Spain that was lost. Its decor transports you to another era, and the hospitality of the family that runs it conveys a warmth that makes everything better. Racó d'En Pepe isn't just about intangibles; there are also many factors worth mentioning: - Exceptional value for money, even more so considering the exorbitant market in certain areas of Calella. A price close to €50 per night seems more than attractive to me. - A fantastic pool, quiet and somewhat secluded, ideal for sunbathing and swimming. - A privileged location, a 5-minute walk from the beach and with shops, bars, and restaurants just a few meters from the door. - 24-hour reception, as well as a small luggage storage area available to guests. - A simple but spacious and well-equipped room with a balcony overlooking the pool, a closet, and even a small desk where I could work remotely when necessary. That said, it's obvious that there are some things that could be improved and that with a little work, the accommodation could take a step forward: - The shower was difficult to operate, and the water flow fluctuated, as did the temperature. I was able to shower without any problems, but it wouldn't hurt to check it. While I'm on the bathroom, I'd apply the same to the soap and shampoo: I don't know what the difference is between using sachets or having small bottles or a dispenser, but it would definitely be an improvement. - The breakfast could be improved; adding more products and a variety would be great. Cold cuts can be a good companion, but they shouldn't be the main attraction. - The room's acoustics aren't the best: I could clearly hear my neighbors. On a similar note, the bed, while it allowed me to sleep soundly, could have been more comfortable. - I didn't use it, but there were several signs informing me that the hotel's Wi-Fi was chargeable. I think this is a complete competitive disadvantage, since virtually all accommodations offer it for free. In short: if you're planning on staying at a luxury resort, this might not be the place for you. However, if you're looking for simple, humble, affordable, and family-friendly accommodation, you'll find few better places on the Calella coast.
