I have visited Raffles The Palm multiple times and have always had a positive impression of the hotel, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. During my most recent visit, my car was returned from valet with a small but visible dent. When I received the vehicle, the driver was not present, the car door was open, and the car was left unattended — something I had never experienced before at this property. The damage was noticeable immediately. What was most frustrating was not the incident itself, but how it was handled afterward. Instead of a prompt acknowledgment or apology, the response focused almost entirely on procedures and internal reviews. I was repeatedly directed toward police and insurance routes for what was a very minor issue, despite clearly stating that I was not seeking compensation. While the hotel later confirmed that CCTV footage did not show a cause for the damage, the review was conducted retrospectively. Had the situation been addressed at the time of vehicle return, the picture may have been clearer. More importantly, a simple acknowledgment of the inconvenience would have gone a long way. For a five-star hotel, guest experience and communication matter just as much as internal processes. Unfortunately, in this case, the tone and approach did not reflect the level of service I had come to expect from Raffles after several previous visits. I hope this feedback helps improve how similar situations are handled in the future.
