I booked through Agoda, so I called the hotel directly to confirm, and they warned me, "Be careful, the narrow, steep slope in front of the hotel will definitely scrape your belly if you have a low-slung car!" I was driving an Alphard, and the road was narrow enough that I could get through without any trouble. The welcome upon arriving by car was exactly what you'd expect from a luxury hotel. They left my car keys there and then, helped me get there, and then carried my luggage to my room, while I was given an explanation about the facilities. It was a very smooth process. During tea time, which is available to guests at no extra charge, I was able to enjoy delicious local sweets, which was great. Of course, everything was delicious, and at cocktail time, you could have drinks and snacks instead of dinner, so there was almost no need to go out to eat. Plus, there was a wide variety of drinks, and being able to enjoy them for free was amazing! The information on the travel site didn't mention the lounge, so be sure to check the hotel's website! The hotel and room were tastefully decorated, with a very calming atmosphere and cleanliness, and I was very satisfied! It was winter fireworks season, so we were able to see the fireworks from Lake Kawaguchi right in the middle of the room, which became a wonderful memory. It was a wonderful hotel that I would definitely recommend, but I'd like to keep it a secret. Mount Fuji is not visible from this location, so if you want to enjoy a view of Mount Fuji, you might want to stay at a different hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rakuyu, it was by far our favourite hotel out of our entire Japan trip! We had the most beautiful view of the lake and the location was perfect! The shuttle bus service was super helpful as well. The staff of the hotel were so welcoming and accomodating! I can’t recommend this hotel more
