I stayed at this hotel on my first trip to Kyoto with my 10-month-old son. I was satisfied with the size and price. The location isn't great, but the taxi ride from Kyoto Station was less than 1,000 yen. After booking, I read some reviews and was a little concerned about hygiene (my child is at the age where he puts everything in his mouth), so I contacted the hotel in advance to ask if they could be more thorough with ventilation and cleaning than usual. I received a response and headed there with peace of mind, but sure enough, there was hair in the room, lots of dust in the corners, and trash from the amenities still on the shelves. There was also trash piled up in the tissue box, which was very unpleasant. Also, the receptionists were unsmiling and rude, but they all looked and acted like they were part-timers. I think they should at least say a good morning when checking out.

I made a reservation because the hotel had a 4.1 rating on Google, but the customer service was terrible. There was a lot of space between the beds, so even when I asked if they could move the bed to a bigger one for my child (there was another large bed in the same room), they said they couldn't do that. I was worried that my child might fall, so I asked if they had any alternatives like cushions, but they said they didn't have any. This was a complete departure from the customer-first mentality I've experienced in previous Japanese hotels, and they didn't offer any alternatives or say they couldn't do anything. The location was also inconvenient, so I drove there, but there is no affiliated parking lot, and although there is a parking lot next to the hotel, it can only fit six cars, so I ended up having to park in a parking lot about a 15-minute walk away. Regarding parking, it's a matter of timing, so I understand that it can't be helped, but there are not many parking spaces compared to the number of rooms, and while it would be fine if you were staying overnight, it's inconvenient because there are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby.

We stayed in a connecting room for about 16,000 yen for five people. It was fully equipped with a bathroom, toilet, small kitchen, and refrigerator. I'd love to go again.
