Stayed for six nights at the RC Hotel in Kyoto in January and we had a very nice and comfortable stay here. Getting there from Kyoto station took around 15-20 minutes by bus and foot. It‘s a little of an uphill walk from the bus station to the hotel, so if you have a lot of luggage, a taxi may be a better choice of transport. As we had shipped our luggage beforehand, we were travelling rather light - so bus and a bit of walking were fine for us. During the delivery of our luggage from Tokyo to Kyoto, one of the suitcases unfortunately was damaged during but the staff at the front desk offered to help us with contacting the delivery company as well as throwing out the broken suitcase for us. All in the all the staff members were very friendly, sweet and helpful. Our room was on the top floor and we had a great view of the Yasaka pagoda - definitely a view to behold. Our room was very spacious so laying out our two big suitcases and two small sutcases was no problem. The room was clean and had all necessary ammenities. In the bathroom as well as in the bedroom itself were extra heaters so we were able to stay warm throughout our stay. Even though the hotel is located right by the main streets full of tourists, it was always pleasantly quiet. Staying there was very convenient to get to many sightseeing spots by foot - the busier ones as well as the less buy ones. Infront of the hotel was the Kéfu Stand which sells drinks like coffee and tea. Showing our room key to the staff there, we were able to get a little discount on our drinks. The staff there was also super sweet. With our drinks we headed to the rooftop of the hotel which gave us an even better view of our surroundings. Thank you for this comfortable stay in Kyoto!

HIDDEN GEM! The layout gives you that Japanese feeling.. bed is on the floor just like they do it.. we absolutely loved it.. You are dead smack in the middle of the action during the day.. you are walking distance to everything in the main area.. the surrounding hotels are over priced and have the same if not less of a view.. The rooftop has thee best views. It's free for hotel visitors.. once people find out about this hotel, the price will definitely go up!🤣
