Red Roof Inn & Suites Mobile SW - I-10

I stayed at Red Roof Inn & Suites Mobile SW – I-10 and found the room to be in unacceptable condition. Upon lifting the mattress, there was visible debris and trash beneath the bed frame, including cigarette butts, a used battery, food wrappers, and other refuse (see photos). The room felt dingy and damp, and there was human hair present on the bed, raising serious concerns about cleanliness and housekeeping standards. The overall condition of the room suggested it had not been properly cleaned or inspected prior to occupancy. Based on this experience, combined with a separate incident of discriminatory treatment at another Red Roof Inn location, I will not stay at this property again and cannot recommend any Red Roof Inn location.

I don’t usually bother writing bad reviews, but feel I need to give a warning on this one. First, the good part…the front desk attendants were very kind and helpful (to the best of their ability to address these issues). We pre-booked and paid for two weekends in a row since we were traveling through Mobile to Texas, then back home again. We had two rooms booked for each of our days. The first night, we went into the first room, and found hair on the toilet, and the sheets, blankets and towels were all stained, however, they had gone through the wash at least. When I went to the other room for the night, I couldn’t even stay in it. There was dog pee on the floor, something smeared across the mirror, and hair and poop stains in the toilet. I went back to the counter and requested a refund of which they did process. Unfortunately, we had to come back through on our way home, so we gave it another shot since we had already Prepaid for the night (It was supposedly non-refundable). When I got there, I told the front desk my concerns so they gave me three room keys to go check different rooms and decide if they were OK to stay in. The first room I went and had brown water and actual poop in the toilet, the second room I went in was the original room from the week prior that still had dog pee on the floor and a smeared mirror, as well as stained towels and bedding. I don’t believe it was even touched to be cleaned from the prior week. The third room that I went into had gunk on the walls as well as dried liquid stains on the floor. The bedding was also stained in that room. I went back to the front desk and told them that we couldn’t stay, that we just need to keep driving home through the night. The reason we had chosen the red roof is that it allowed for dogs to stay, including large dogs like our Greyhounds!. Most hotels have limits on dog sizes, and I couldn’t find any to start with that would take us. We called around though and ended up going to the Holiday Inn around the corner. We had a great stay there, and we’ll be going back there again. So I would say the staff was friendly and apologetic at the Red Roof, but everything else about the hotel was undesirable. I’ve never been in such a dirty hotel in my life!
