Redford Hotel

I have nothing negative to report. Our room was lovely, modern, and very clean. The bathroom had also been renovated and was therefore modern and clean. The room was cleaned daily upon request. Good location and friendly staff. The hotel offered excellent value for money. It was quite quiet at night as it's located on a side street.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, about a 7-minute walk from the subway station, which is a big plus for exploring New York. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. The lobby and hallways were clean and well-maintained. The room was accessed by a key card, which gave a sense of security. The room itself was also clean, the bedding was good, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quite cold, however. Fortunately, there was electric heating, which allowed for some warmth. Unfortunately, the window wasn't airtight, allowing heat to escape, and the floor was very cold. The TV was small and we didn't use it, but the bedside lamps with USB-A charging ports were a big plus. The bathroom was clean, hot water was readily available, and the towels were clean and soft. Basic toiletries were provided in large containers. The shower was a downside – there was no retractable shower head, and you had to douse yourself with it to turn on the water, although this seems to be standard in the US. The only noticeable downside was the unpleasant damp smell in the elevator. Other than that, I'd rate the stay positive—a good hotel in a convenient location, especially for a short city break.

Terrible experience and scandalous customer management. Our experience with The Redford Hotel, booked through Expedia, was extremely negative in every way. After the room was cleaned on December 28, 2025, a pair of pajamas left in the room disappeared. From that moment on, a shameful back-and-forth of responsibility began: every day a different receptionist came to the desk, each with a different story. First, we were told the item had ended up in the laundry, then suddenly we were handed a letter inviting us to contact Expedia. No clarity, no assumption of responsibility, no solution... no safe for any valuables. To make matters worse, the room assigned did NOT match the reservation: we had paid for a room with a king bed, but we found ourselves in a tiny room, with a significantly smaller bed, completely unsuitable for three people. We even provided photographic evidence, which was ignored by both the hotel and Expedia. The most serious issue, however, was Expedia's management, which simply passively accepted the hotel's version of events, completely ignoring the facts documented by customers, even going so far as to offer an offensive refund of $86, completely disproportionate to the inconvenience suffered. A total lack of customer protection, a lack of professionalism, and zero attention to the quality of the service sold. First and last time with Expedia. I strongly recommend using more serious and reliable websites and NEVER book The Redford Hotel.
