We stayed at Finca Ecovida: a beautiful country house in the mountains above the Costa Blanca! The owners told us they rebuilt this house stone by stone from a ruin. Photos of this rebuilt are displayed inside the house: impressive, as we found a luxurious and beautifully furnished finca with authentic details. We stayed here with two families at the end of December. The house is truly equipped with every comfort. Our families, especially the children, really appreciated the games and books provided. During the day, it was 16 degrees Celsius, so we could have lunch on the terrace in the sun in our T-shirts. In the evenings, it cooled down a bit, but the pellet stove kept us comfortably warm inside. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and extra blankets were provided if needed. We enjoyed cooking. There are plenty of places to sit outside, and there's a barbecue where we enjoyed a Spanish mid-winter barbecue. The house is beautifully decorated, making us feel right at home (our favorite was the bathroom off the master bedroom, where the grapes used to be crushed). The tranquility we experienced, in particular, made for a wonderful holiday. The surrounding area is perfect for hiking and road bike tours. We also visited Altea, a charming seaside town. The contrast between busy Benidorm, where we passed through to do some shopping, and the natural surroundings of the Finca is indescribable. We definitely recommend this house and will return in the summer to enjoy the pool.

At the end of November, three friends and I spent a midweek break at Finca EcoVida. What a beautiful place it was! An old ruin that has been completely renovated into a luxurious retreat with several bedrooms and a stunning bathroom. Photos of the building once hung on the walls of the house; it's incredible what they've done with it. As you walk out the door, you look out onto the beautiful, peaceful mountainous surroundings, perfect for stargazing in the evening. A pleasant stroll, led by donkeys, takes you to the pool. It cooled down quickly in the evenings, but a lovely stove in the house keeps it warm. A car is recommended; you can easily park it next to the house. From here, you can easily explore charming villages in the area, Alicante, or beautiful hiking areas. If you're looking for a place to unwind, I would definitely recommend Finca EcoVida!
