Generally speaking, the location and the surroundings of the hotel are great. However, we booked the room on their website, and the USD amount was shown as “tax included.” At the moment of payment, we were told that an additional 19% tax would be added because we were paying in CLP. In the end, we found a very small note at the bottom of the confirmation email explaining that if payment is made in CLP, an extra 19% tax applies. That is fine, but why does the website say “tax included”? Please do not confuse guests. Also, the young girl at the front desk did not explain things clearly and was not professional at all, even though we were communicating in Spanish. The hotel does not have an elevator, only stairs, so it is very inconvenient if you are very tired or injured. When entering the room, there were two huge ponchos placed right in front of the bed. It felt a bit strange for us, as they looked like they were staring at us while we were sleeping. and the bathroom is very small..... On the same day, we had dinner at the hotel and waited about 45 minutes for our two dishes. simply don’t understand why a fish dish would take that long. It was really upsetting after a long day trip. The one star for service is for the Colombian waiter, who was very nice and cheerful. In addition, the hotel's swimming pool requires passing through an outdoor corridor, which is not very practical due to the wind and rain might have. Considering its price, the overall service and facilities are really not match.

Very nicely presented. Lots of wood and idiosyncratic design and floor levels. Sunday dinner is a buffet at $50,000 so you might wish to check out the town. We later realised that the buffet was a special for a crowd of National Geographic cruisers who were starting at this hotel. That meant that, in terms of food, all other customers were fair game- charge them 50.000 to eat in the hotel at a buffet which really was nothing special. One of the guests queuing for replacement meat ( it had run out) told us to avoid the chicken. We felt poorly treated. The town itself has quite a few coffee shops and restaurants but is not exactly enticing on a Sunday evening. So we went back to the hotel to face the buffet previously described. There was no menu online or in rooms so we did not have info to decide. (When we later returned to the hotel (3 days later) we discovered the small family bar over the road(La Escondida) does very good meals… but book early!) Hotel rooms have no fridge. No tv. No drawers. No chair. Lovely towels. All sockets are two thin pin. Safe too small to get a tablet in. Wooden box to sit on- no chairs. Shower is a an overhead rainforest which tilts in one direction so pours water out of the front third only.. No hand held shower. Useless for ladies who do not want to get their hair wet... Like my wife! Panel between bathroom and bedroom is glass so using the bathroom at night floods the bedroom with light. Negative Breakfast pretty basic. No normal milk, no plates. Lots of empty little containers labelled but nothing in them. I feel that the people who design and run hotels must never stay in the rooms. They just look at the design and patronising bits of furniture (hard wooden cubes for 70 year olds to sit on? Really?) and think- “Yep- that will win an award.” Unfortunately Google having issue uploading photos....
