While the location of this hotel was great, we were pretty underwhelmed with the service when we visited for a short stop on our honeymoon around Switzerland. We strictly stayed at Marriott properties throughout our trip, however, this unfortunately was the only one we were unhappy with. For context, our Marriott status allowed for breakfast to be included in all of our stays. The front desk verified that when we checked in for this specific hotel, however, my husband was repeatedly harassed by staff the next morning to pay for his breakfast. Despite him kindly explaining the situation, the staff continued to involve more people who each individually approached him asking him to pay while he was in the middle of eating. It was so odd and off putting that he ended up just paying and getting up and leaving without eating the rest of his food. When checking out, the front office manager denied that the young man who checked us in said that it was included as it was for every other Marriott property we stayed at. Highly recommend visiting Lucerne as we still had a great time there but I would choose a different hotel.

I stayed at this hotel on May 24, 2024. It was the most dangerous hotel I have ever stayed in. The entire room was filled with the smell of smoke, so I had no choice but to open the window. However, the window was covered by a curtain. When I tried to open the curtain, the broken curtain rod hidden inside injured the area below my eye. I couldn’t see it at all because it was concealed within the curtain. The rod almost pierced my eye, and I am still deeply shocked and unable to recover from this terrible experience. I checked into this hotel on May 24, 2024. It was the most dangerous hotel I've ever stayed in. The entire room was filled with smoke, and I had no choice but to open the window, which was covered by a curtain. As I was opening the curtain, a broken handle pierced my lower eye. The handle was hidden by the curtain, so I couldn't see it at all. The injury nearly pierced my eye, and I still haven't recovered from it!
