Stayed here slightly longer than a month for business. My family stayed as well for about half the time, and the entire staff was so friendly and warm. When our A/C died the first night we were there, Miguel at the front desk changed our room and even gave us a 5th floor view of the mountains. Every time we walked through the lobby doors, we were greeted as if we were finally home. The room was very spacious. The kitchenware was okay. But the housekeeping staff was excellent and thorough. The cleanings didn’t happen on a set schedule as they occurred sometime between noon and 5ish. Lastly, Jose at the front desk even let me check out very late as my travel plans changed unexpectedly. I am so grateful for this hotel and its well trained staff. Ultimately, because of Miguel and the staff, the location (in Oldtown!), and the very spacious room, we will come back when in Pasadena again!

Deeply Disappointed and Concerned – A Failing Hotel That Ignores Basic Standards I want to add my voice to the review written by my daughter, Jaime Catchen, who captured many of the ongoing and unresolved issues we encountered during our nearly five-month stay at this property, following our displacement from the Eaton fire in early 2025. To avoid repetition, I won’t restate the long list of maintenance failures she described—though I witnessed all of them. What I want to highlight instead is the consistent pattern of neglect, misrepresentation, and indifference that this hotel exhibited over an extended period. This wasn’t a short stay. We lived here. We adapted, waited patiently for promised repairs, gave grace for the chaos of a post-disaster environment. But what we experienced went far beyond reasonable delays or isolated errors. It was systematic disregard: unresolved safety and comfort issues, false assurances to incoming guests, and a lack of transparency in billing—including a surprise $500 charge at the end of our stay, with no invoice or explanation, and still no response to multiple attempts to resolve it. This is not just poor service—it’s unethical. It’s not just a management problem—it reflects a total failure of oversight. And for a brand like Marriott to allow this to continue for months on end without meaningful intervention is unacceptable. This hotel not only failed to support disaster survivors, it took advantage of us. If you are considering staying here, I urge you to look elsewhere. I expected professionalism and basic human decency. Instead, I left feeling dismissed and defrauded.
