Residence Inn Saratoga Springs

I usually don’t waste my time writing reviews, but would hope that maybe something might change for the next person by doing it more, because I would not want to stay here given our experiences. We booked 2 king suites for 2 nights, room 102 and 101. My elderly mother was in 102 which REEKED of stale cigarettes, either from being right by the entrance door where people smoke or possibly because the room had been smoked in at one point. She is not a complainer so she did not mention the smell or any other issues she may have had. If I was her, I would have requested a new room. Our room, 101, had been previously visited by at least an animal with white fur and another with long black fur. The white fur was visible all over our son’s sofa bed once we removed the cushions to set it up. The black fur was all over our bed spread top sheet. Are those things ever actually cleaned??? Also, if anything ever touched the floor, once we picked it up, it had long black fur on it. The overall room set up was nice. We visited the free breakfast once, which was enough, where we attempted to eat a waffle from the maker, which was the worst ever, consistency and taste. The pool did not look very enticing, so we skipped it. We could not really figure out how to set our temp controls, but survived. It snowed while we were there, maybe 4 inches and the handicapped entrance ramp that was closest to our room was shoveled last well after the other entrances, as in hours later. The people at the front desk were always pleasant, but I only talked to them twice.

Solid 4.25 to 4.5 hotel. Was under construction at the moment and a little dated but friendly staff and working amenities in clean rooms does a lot in review. All kitchenette appliances worked and when traveling? That does everything at the end of a long day. Being able to control even the smallest thing like making your dinner is incredible.
