Unfortunately, our holiday at Hotel Intouriste ended on a disappointing note. Upon arrival, we were asked to pay a 300 Dirham deposit. However, upon checkout, we discovered they no longer require a deposit. A different employee at the reception desk couldn't find the deposit. He called the colleague who was working at check-in and he told us he'd never received a deposit from us. We explained how we only had 200 dirham bills so he even gave us change. When we failed to come to an agreement we asked to check the security footage from the camera at the desk. They refused to check it, claiming that no one works on Sundays to retrieve it. The man who took the deposit said he honestly didn't remember and blamed it on Ramadan (which hadn't even started at the time of check-in). He offered the solution of paying (only) part of the deposit out of his own pocket and made us feel guilty, telling us it was two days' wages for him. We're not even necessarily looking for a full refund, but this is a poor practice that would prevent us from recommending the hotel to others. The hotel itself was fine, and up to par for the small amount we paid for this holiday. But the way we were treated as if we were liars trying to scam poor people ruined the experience for us. If you do go to this hotel, absolutely do not pay a deposit because you won't get it back!
