I stayed one night, having booked a show at the Casino Barrière, which is very close to the hotel. There's an intercom to enter the building, but no one answered; luckily, someone came in shortly after. The reception was professional but not very warm. The entrance to the room was through a corridor that smelled a bit musty, but the worst part was inside the room, where the smell was very strong, like in a nursing home. We used some perfume to try and mask it, but even then, the smell was still very noticeable when we returned from the show. The room itself was very spacious, as was the bathroom. Just one small detail: there was a window inside the shower, with a plastic Venetian blind. Strange in a shower and not very practical, as it was difficult to lower. Then, the next morning, around 9:00 a.m., we went to breakfast. Two young men greeted us, laughing amongst themselves, while the tables hadn't been cleared, the small buffet hadn't been replenished, and there were no pastries or bread. When we pointed this out to one of them, he said he'd reheat some but that it would take time. Then, when we asked him again a little later, he'd forgotten about the bread and had only restocked four mini chocolate croissants, even though there were six adult customers in the room. In short, I don't recommend it, except for the location, even though it's difficult to park on the street because there's no parking lot.

Friendly welcome, perfect location; we didn't need to use the car from arrival to departure for two days, as the historic center is very close. It's a shame about the paid parking, which has to be renewed every two hours and adds to the cost. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped for those who want to cook or have lunch there. The shutters were very effective, providing total darkness even in broad daylight! One point deducted for the mattress, which was rather soft and aggravated my sciatica. Large, well-stocked breakfast room; I just would have liked a bit more good fresh bread and "real" pastries. Best of luck!
