I booked this hotel through Jalan because reviews mentioned unlimited refills on cheese fondue and steak for dinner, and because it was off-season, the price was also reasonable. (As an aside, I've previously booked other hotels through Agoda, and when I checked in at the hotel, the reservation details were automatically changed and shared with the hotel. As the government warns, booking through Agoda is risky.) The hotel is old, but it's been renovated throughout, so everything was clean, except for the small details. My room was on the first floor, and the heating wasn't on when I checked in. There were two small, old-looking heaters, and even when I turned them on, only cold air came out... It seems they're broken, so we had to rely on the air conditioning for heating. There was no explanation at check-in, so I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do. The bathroom was also renovated, so it was clean. There was a Japanese male staff member at the front desk, but most of the staff were foreigners. He was very humble and attentive, and I could tell he was trying his best. Dinner was as delicious as the reviews said, and I had two refills of the steak and was full, so I was very satisfied. The breakfast salad was disappointing, with only sunny lettuce and a limited selection. There is a large public bath large enough for about three adults, and although there was a sign indicating the open-air bath was out of order, the door was open. When I looked inside, the small tub was filled with muddy water, suggesting it hadn't been used in years. Also, given the location, it's inconvenient if you don't have a car, such as a rental car. This time, I used a coupon on Jalan and got a great deal on my stay. Most hotels have recently adopted dynamic pricing, and room rates have risen dramatically, with hotels often raising prices by 10,000 yen the day after booking. On this day, I was torn between my usual stay at La Vista Furano Hills, where only meals are served, and this hotel with two meals included, which are almost the same price... I've known this hotel for a long time, and they've maintained consistently low prices even after the COVID-19 pandemic. I understand that it's difficult with labor costs and rising prices, but I hope they continue to do their best. I'd definitely like to stay here again.

Overall poor stay, not recommended We booked this hotel back in October. On the night of December 21 at around 11:00 PM, I called the hotel to inform them that we might add one extra guest. The staff clearly told me that: • Adding a guest via the Agoda app would be cheaper • Adding a guest on-site would cost 5,000 JPY I said that paying 5,000 JPY on-site was acceptable. However, the next evening, the hotel suddenly called and said that because it was the year-end period, the fee for adding an extra guest had increased to over 30,000 JPY, which was an unreasonable and shocking price change. After that, I contacted the hotel again by email, and they replied that the fee would be 17,400 JPY per additional guest. But when I actually arrived at the hotel, the price changed again to 14,300 JPY. 👉 The same extra guest service had several completely different prices within a short period of time, which was very confusing and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of basic price transparency. During this Hokkaido trip, when we added extra guests at other hotels, the fee was usually only around 3,000–5,000 JPY, making this hotel’s pricing stand out in a negative way. About the room: • We were assigned a first-floor room • Bed sheets and covers were relatively clean • However, the carpet was very dirty and damp • The heating was not warm enough • There was a strong musty smell, and overall comfort was poor Overall, the experience was very disappointing in terms of pricing communication, service attitude, and room conditions. I would not recommend this hotel.
