Rex Hotel Residence

WONDERFUL STAY! We'd like to share our experience at the Rex Hotel Residence because everything was perfect and we're truly happy we chose it for our vacation in Genoa, starting with its location in one of the most picturesque and characteristic places we could have come across: Boccadasse. The staff deserves our deepest gratitude: We were greeted upon arrival by Roberto, who was incredibly friendly and always eager to help us in any way he could, and generous with suggestions on places to visit and things to do. Giovanni, who had already proven to be kind and helpful over the phone, greeted us every day with a smile. Chiara gave us helpful information for visiting Nervi, and we also thank her for her curated social media content—for example, the videos dedicated to each room were invaluable in helping us find the best accommodation for us (tip for those wishing to book: take a look at them to get an idea of the various rooms, knowing the pros and cons). We also thank Anthony, who is always friendly and smiling. Now let's move on to our room, 401. It was a delightful surprise! Better than expected. It's located on the top floor, practically in the tower, overlooking the hotel's panoramic terrace. It's very bright and enjoys a privileged view, with two windows offering distant glimpses of the sea. Every morning, we woke up to breakfast, admiring the sunrise over the sea from the comfort of our kitchen! We could step out onto the terrace whenever we wanted (since it was right in front of our door) and enjoy the 360° view. A spectacle we'll never forget. It was our happy refuge for a week. We felt at home with all the comforts: a fully equipped kitchen, private bathroom, comfortable bed, and well-soundproofed windows! The bus stops to reach the center of Genoa or the Brignole train station are just a short walk away, as are supermarkets, focaccerie, pastry shops, and... Boccadasse, with its charming village that we fell in love with immediately. We're eager to return to visit Liguria and its wonders, and the Rex will definitely be our choice. Nice hotel residence, but the rooms and common areas are too new. The bathroom was too small. On the other hand, the garage parking directly inside the building is really convenient. Friendly staff. There are restaurants and pizzerias just steps away, and a very convenient supermarket as well.

A hotel with an excellent location, but with a truly poor quality-price ratio in some cases. That's why I'm giving it two stars. I recently stayed in a room on the reception floor (with no view because it's below the level of the adjacent garage) and couldn't sleep because there was no soundproofing from the bathroom in the next room. Consider that the difference between a room like this and one three times more spacious with a kitchenette and sometimes a terrace, which I've stayed in previous years, is only 20 euros! So choose your room wisely!
