Richmond Tokyo Mejiro Hotel

I booked a double room on the official website. The photos showed a square room with walkways on both sides of the bed, and the bathroom looked clean and bright. However, the actual room was completely different from the photos. There was an extra sharp corner, the room layout was very strange, and the bed was against one wall with no walkway, making it difficult for the person sleeping on the inside to get out of bed. The bathroom had a strong musty smell, mold everywhere, and was dark and old, making it unpleasant to use. I asked the front desk, but they only said it was the same room type and that there were no rooms available for a change, so I reluctantly stayed. That night, I found the pillows were also musty and it was very difficult to lie on. The bed sagged in the middle, making it impossible to lie flat on my shoulders, neck, and back. Combined with the layout, I couldn't fall asleep at all. I slept for five hours but woke up six or seven times. I hurriedly checked out the next morning. I used to really like the Richmond brand's quality and even became a member, choosing to stay at their hotels almost every time I went to Japan. After this experience, I was extremely disappointed. The brand's prestige vanished, and I will be much more careful about checking reviews in the future.

The hotel was easily accessible from the station, and the staff were all smiling and calm, making it a great place to stay. I was also pleased with the relaxed atmosphere of the Gusto breakfast. I will definitely stay here again.
