Ringhotel Katharinen Hof

I was completely satisfied at the Ringhotel Katharinen Hof in Unna. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant and bar are beautifully decorated, and offer excellent food. The bar is open until midnight, and the restaurant until 10 p.m. The location is ideal—directly across from the train station, perfect for business travelers. Those arriving by car will find on-site parking. My double room (standard) was very comfortable: with a terrace, bathtub, rain shower, queen-size bed, safe, and complimentary bottled water. A particularly positive aspect: Upon request, a firmer pillow was already prepared upon arrival. The bathroom was modern and spacious, with a window for ventilation. The rest of the furnishings are a bit older, but charming and well-maintained—giving the hotel a pleasant, rustic feel. The price isn't low, but absolutely fair considering the service. I had no complaints and would happily return.

The shower pressure could be a bit stronger – by German standards – but this is undoubtedly a high-level criticism. Overall, the rooms offer everything you would expect from a hotel of this category. The wellness area is more functional than luxurious and should not be confused with a designated spa. A positive feature is the ample supply of towels. However, use of the sauna is only possible by prior reservation (approximately 30 minutes in advance), as it must be switched on first. The limited selection of refreshments is somewhat disappointing – two bottles of water for several guests seems a bit limited. The spatial layout also leaves little room for privacy at full capacity. A larger drinks or fruit area, as well as occasional checks by staff, would have been desirable, especially since no supervisor was present for several hours. This raises questions about safety – despite all the serenity. The hotel's culinary offerings are impressive across the board. The four-course set menu is excellently prepared, with finely balanced flavors, and served in a quiet, sophisticated atmosphere. The waiters and restaurant manager are characterized by exceptional courtesy, professionalism, and attentiveness. The buffet selection is also of high quality and varied, although the noise level is somewhat higher on buffet days. Those looking to end the evening in a relaxed atmosphere may want to consider a set menu evening. One small drawback concerns the service at breakfast: While the rest of the staff is extremely courteous, the restaurant management was less attentive. A friendly greeting or a brief glance would have significantly rounded out the positive overall impression. The Ringhotel Katharinen Hof is a highly recommended hotel with a high level of comfort, excellent cuisine, and an ideal location. Minor weaknesses in the wellness area and breakfast service only slightly mar the overall impression. Those who value good food, well-maintained rooms, and centrally located, quiet accommodation will feel extremely comfortable here – only guests who expect absolute peace and quiet with an included dinner should consider this when planning their stay.

A first-class hotel, beautiful rooms, and extremely attentive staff. The breakfast and dinner are incredibly plentiful. Our next stay will definitely be at this hotel again. Thank you very much!
