River View Garden Resort

Great location on the river. Very uncrowded and peaceful.

The location is wonderful, but the rooms and service are terrible. We boot for 3 people and the room had towels for 2, 2 coffee cups, no filters that are needed for their coffee maker. Jay, the manager acted as if we were being unreasonable when we asked for the missing items as well as for soap in the liquid soap container. Pretty weird that there was an empty container when we arrived. My advice: stay somewhere else as this is a complete ripoff.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Absolutely disgusting, dirty. I booked this room for a work trip and was unable to check in. The manager, Jay, called me before my check in date to tell me the check in instructions which was that he was just going to leave the key in the door of room 17?? When I arrived, there was no key in the door to room 17, the office was closed, nobody answered the door. The hotel itself is very run down and depressing. I ended up having to drive an hour back to Santa Rosa to book a room at a different hotel. I was told by my supervisor to contact the hotel for a refund and JAY was extremely rude and disrespectful and told me that it was my fault I was unable to check in. He then insisted that I checked in on Saturday, and that I was in a white Chevy and that the lights were on in my room. He even said he had security camera footage of me. I told him this was impossible because I never entered the room, my car isn’t white and it isn’t a Chevy either. When I told my supervisor what happened, she told me to contact the third party that I book hotel through to explain what happened. The third party then contacted the owner, Jay, and he LIED to them and told them that I checked in on Sunday. So my corporate credit card was charged over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a room that I never even entered. It’s not even my money but it was still a very upsetting experience. I ended up having to dispute the charge with the credit card company and it’s become a huge hassle for both my supervisor and I. Jay has absolutely no idea how to run a safe, clean, business. If you are looking to book a hotel in Monte Rio, I would highly recommend the Highland Dell Lodge. The women there are very professional and nice, the rooms are clean. I have also recommended the Highland Dell to my supervisor and coworkers, so that nobody else at my company has to deal with what I went through. I cannot stress this enough, this is the most disgusting unprofessional experience I have ever had at a hotel, and I travel for work VERY frequently. I can’t possibly begin to imagine how depressing it would be to book this hotel for a vacation :( DO NOT STAY HERE. You will have a better experience sleeping in your car than at this hotel.
