Robinson Club Cala Serena

Robinson Cala Serena - our experience in brief: Rental car distance/time from the airport approx. 60 minutes. Fantastic location near the "local beach," Cala Serena. The room (House Campos) is well located, with a lovely view from the loggia. The mattresses are perfect, and finally, there are long blankets. The heating via the air conditioning isn't ideal. The furnishings are functional, but nothing special. The refrigerator is unnecessary, the TV is small and inconveniently placed, and there are no mosquito nets. Housekeeping is friendly. We were given one sample of coffee capsules, but they can only be purchased at the resort due to their special cube shape. Considering the room price, coffee capsules should be included. In my opinion, the public areas (restaurant, sports facilities, bar) are in dire need of renovation. Even with some maintenance, much could be improved. It seems there's a lack of someone to oversee the resort and critically assess its upkeep. Here are just a few examples: worn chair covers in the restaurant, some broken soap dispensers in the public restrooms, worn fixtures, unvarnished wooden floor in the WellFit Spa sauna, dirty and faded wall paint in the fitness room, unattractive and messy, chewing gum on public walkways, yellowed lounge cushions. Entertainment: Mediocre to poor show program (perhaps the era of club shows by the animation team is over), the DJ seems to only know the 14-20 age group and plays music accordingly. The live performance by the singer from The Voice Kids lacked emotion and had poor sound. Very good trainers in the fitness area and for the WellFit week. Unfortunately, there was no mirror in the Body&Mind room (where Pilates, for example, took place). Nice panoramic sauna. Culinary: Overall, nothing special. On the plus side: traditional Mallorcan and Spanish dishes. Whole-grain bread was good, white bread and rolls were poor. The fruit selection (presumably due to the time of year, March, or cost-cutting measures) was limited: pineapple, melon, apple, banana, grapes. The restaurant service was outstanding: quick and very attentive. We found the bicycle rental prices to be completely exorbitant, not only at the resort but also in Cala d'Or. In conclusion: We expected a higher Robinson standard. We would gladly return to this resort, but won't until it has undergone significant improvements. A real shame.

I was there alone and met some really nice people. The staff is exceptionally friendly, the food is fantastic, always fresh, and incredibly varied. In the evenings, you can enjoy good conversation in the bar with music and great cocktails. That was especially important to me since the weather was bad ;). Good sports facilities, small towns, and Palma are all within easy reach.

We always enjoy coming to this club; this time I especially liked the event week organized by Heike and Steffi. We'd love to come again!
