Robinson Club Khao Lak

Overall, it's a great hotel and we had a fantastic holiday there. The food and the pool villa were superb. However, I felt the parties were too loud and went on too long for a family hotel. No one came by on the beach to sell us drinks, so we had to buy them at a local bar right next door. The advantage, though, was that it was significantly cheaper. The trash wasn't collected often enough during the day. None of this is a major issue, but we're talking about a 5-star Robinson Club here. I've experienced more professional service at other 5-star chains. You can definitely have a holiday here, though. I've just shared my personal opinions.

We stayed at Robinson Khao Lak from February 16th to 26th. We had a truly wonderful vacation, even the best one we've ever had. We stayed in Pool Villa Superior 4009. The villa is beautiful, very spacious, and very clean. Yes, it's a little worn, but that doesn't detract from the positive impressions at all. We had a truly wonderful time. The resort is very expansive, and the gardens are impeccably maintained. The food in the main restaurant was very varied, and we tried everything. Everything was easy to digest and tasted fantastic. We can't comment on the other restaurants, as we didn't visit them. Breakfast in the terrace restaurant was also very good. A bit smaller, but there was something for everyone. The staff throughout the resort are very guest-oriented, and every request was fulfilled. Everyone was very, very friendly and exactly what you would expect from such a top-class hotel. The beach area at the back, near the villas, is the most beautiful. The edge of the main pool was a bit too steep for getting in and out. All in all, we had the best vacation ever and we will definitely come back. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Overall, a very good hotel that I would gladly recommend. However, there are a few areas for improvement. Here are some impressions and suggestions for improvement: - A beautiful, natural, yet well-maintained resort. The club's gardens are wonderfully maintained and provide a magnificent backdrop. There are numerous beautiful geckos, dragonflies, and lizard species to admire, which inhabit and enrich the grounds. - Excellent service; all staff members are friendly, motivated, and helpful. Service is available 24/7, and they act quickly. (A glass falls on the floor in the room at midnight and breaks? After a phone call, someone is there five minutes later to vacuum the room.) Despite this, the resort is relatively quiet, and there isn't constant "entertainment" as is apparently the case in other Robinsons. Definitely a plus for me. - The gym is really good by hotel standards. However, proper 20kg barbells would be better than the 5kg barbells available in the gym. More weight plates would also improve the gym; as it is, it's somewhat difficult for advanced users to continue their regular training program. Nevertheless, for a hotel gym: very good. -The activities offered are varied and well-instructed. I would especially like to commend the Thai boxing instructor as very friendly and competent! -The breakfast is very tasty and varied. The food quality is very high! (We only ate breakfast at the hotel, so I can't comment on the rest.) However, the same buffet is offered every morning. Small rotations every 4-5 days would have been nice (e.g., swapping the potato wedges for hash browns or something similar). Even so, what was there was very good. -The breakfast was delicious and varied. -There are several pools, a relaxation pool, a children's pool with a slide, and two additional pools. I must say, however, that the pools could have been better maintained. There are some missing tiles, dirty spots, and broken lights. More regular maintenance would have been appreciated. -The sauna, on the other hand, is in excellent condition and offers a beautiful view of a lake from the clothing-optional area. All in all, I had a wonderful time at Robinson Khao Lak and highly recommend the resort to travelers who appreciate a nature-oriented hotel with enjoyable activities but without too much hustle and bustle. One more tip: Be sure to use mosquito repellent regularly! Due to the many bodies of water, there are unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes. However, the repellent effectively keeps them at bay!
