I had imagined it to be a classic, retro, old-money hotel, but it turned out to be a modernly decorated hotel of average quality. The rooms and bathrooms were quite large, but there was no bathtub. The spa was a very small basin, which would be cramped for four people. It might look nice in the summer, but in winter, without a view, the hotel loses its appeal. Since I booked it during the off-season for €145, I thought it was pretty good. The breakfast was average.

We stayed at this hotel for a short wellness break, but unfortunately, our expectations were completely disappointed. The hotel is very outdated and in dire need of renovation. The carpet in the hallway, in particular, is extremely unsightly and covered in stains – it's anything but inviting. Breakfast was a disaster and very unhygienic. The tablecloths were stained everywhere, and everything generally looked neglected. The cutlery was placed upside down in a dirty glass, which was already covered in dust – truly disgusting. The breakfast selection was very limited, and even the few items that were available were rarely, if ever, replenished. There was only one waiter who was responsible for everything and seemed completely overwhelmed. Consequently, he couldn't keep up with restocking. In addition, you couldn't get coffee yourself; you had to ask the waiter every time. Since it was obvious how stressed and pressed for time he was, we eventually became too afraid to ask. The rest of the breakfast offerings and their presentation were also of very poor quality. We primarily traveled to this hotel for the spa area. A solarium, whirlpool, and steam room were advertised. However, only the whirlpool was working. The spa area was generally very dark, not very clean, and in dire need of renovation. The steam room was out of order both days. We were told each time that it would be turned on – but nothing happened. Only on the second day, when the manager himself came and checked it, was it confirmed that it was broken. Additionally, you have to request the steam room 30 minutes in advance, which was neither mentioned to us beforehand nor communicated anywhere. On the positive side, the room was very clean, nicely furnished, and we had a lake view, which was truly breathtaking. We felt comfortable and were also provided with a space heater. The staff was very attentive but clearly understaffed and stressed, which was a real shame. At check-out, we explained our concerns to the hotel manager and received a small refund. We were told that it was low season and therefore many things were discounted – however, this wasn't clearly indicated anywhere, so we had expected something different. Cleanliness, service, and functionality should not be compromised, regardless of the season. The location right on the lake is beautiful and surely a dream in the summer. The hotel has a lovely vintage charm, which is unfortunately overshadowed by a lack of maintenance, cleanliness, and renovations. Overall, we were disappointed, even though the hotel has a lot of potential.

I went with my mom, dad, and my sister. This hotel is a bit far from Lucerne, so it'll take you around 30 minutes on an Uber or 40 minutes on a ferry to arrive. The hotel is gorgeous. It's like one of those hotels you see in those Hallmark movies. We went in the winter, which is disappointing because there's a nice pool outside and a sauna. The food of the restaurant was great. They served Italian food, so we tried the pizza and the ravioli. Both were delectable and definitely something to praise. However, the rooms and service are absolutely top-notch. The cleaners give you biscuits every time they clean. The rooms we had, 303 and 304 were very spacious. They also provide all the toiletries you could ever need. The only bad thing I can say about this hotel is that their phones don't work. However, the hotel is small so walking down to the reception is not that inconvenient. Shout out to one of the receptionists, Hong! She was so kind and funny and really made us feel at home as she is also from Southeast Asia.
