Everything was fine, nice place. Affordable price. Shared and private rooms available. Hot water.

The rooms were fine but the facilities are not cared for. Our doorknob broke and we were trapped inside the room. A staff member came up to check after I called, then NEVER CAME BACK to help us. So we had to bust open the door and break the wood to get out. An hour passed and the guy didn’t come to help us. He was totally fine to leave us trapped. The building is a maze and built very strangely. It’s like climbing through a maze to get from place to place. The bathroom had no toilet paper and no lightbulb, so it’s pitch black at night. The other toilet was out of service. So there’s one toilet and one shower to share among many people. Do yourself a favor and stay at the condesa location. 10x better.

DO NOT STAY HERE — seriously, avoid this place at all costs. It can absolutely ruin your trip to Mexico City. This so-called “hostel” is run-down, dirty, and foul-smelling, with a disgusting mix of cold tobacco and ingrained filth everywhere. The overall atmosphere is creepy, cold, and uncomfortable. Kitchen: basically unusable. No utensils, no cutlery, no trash bins, almost no plates, no dish soap. And someone stole my food. Bathroom: no hot water, terrible water pressure, floor constantly flooded, nowhere to put your towel. The toilets and showers are far from the rooms. If you want to pee at night, forget about it. Room: tiny but okay, yet freezing at night. No pillow cases and a very thin blanket. No intimacy, my window was right by the terrace. Common areas: dark, poorly maintained, depressing, and honestly scary. The terrace is especially grim. The staff is extremely caring. The reception is supposed to be open 24/7, and guests rely on them to enter the building at night (we don't get any keys or access cards). Yet at 2 AM, I was left standing outside for 10 minutes because the receptionist was asleep and didn't bother to answer. The overall vibe and the people staying there make the place even more uncomfortable. Please do yourself a favor: stay somewhere else. In French: ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE. I'm not exaggerating: staying here can ruin your trip to Mexico City. This "hostel" is shabby, dirty, poorly maintained, with a foul odor of stale tobacco and ingrained grime that follows you everywhere. The atmosphere is gloomy, oppressive, and frankly disturbing. Kitchen: unusable. No utensils, no cutlery, no trash cans, no dish soap, hardly any plates. As an added bonus: my food was stolen. Bathroom: No hot water, ridiculously low pressure, constantly flooded floor. No place to put your towel. The bathroom and toilet are very far from the rooms, requiring access via very narrow stairs (hello accidents at night, there's no light!!) - the bathroom you'll see in the photo is the best bathroom in the hostel! Room: Basic and cold. No pillowcases, ultra-thin duvet. It's freezing cold at night, I can't stress this enough. Common areas: Dark, poorly lit, dilapidated… a truly terrifying atmosphere. The terrace is sinister. The overall atmosphere and the people staying there reinforce a constant feeling of unease. The staff is incredibly indifferent. The reception is supposed to be open 24/7 and open at any time (guests don't have badges or keys to enter at night), yet at 2 a.m. I had to wait 10 minutes outside before the receptionist opened the door for me (she was sound asleep). Honestly: don't go there. There are a thousand times better options.
