Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong

Location of Rosdale hotel is good. Housekeeping staff Angela and Ah Ying are helpful & service minded and checked if we needed towels or cleaning. Staff @ Ground level greeted us each time when we meet. However hotel needs to renovate, furnishings looks dated, room is clean though,. overall is good

Our stay at Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong from 2nd Jan to 6th Jan was one of the most uncomfortable and humiliating hotel experiences we have ever had. 1. Poor-quality breakfast with no variety The breakfast was extremely disappointing. The food did not taste good, the variety was very limited, and the same menu was repeated every single day during our stay. For a hotel hosting international guests, the breakfast quality and options were far below acceptable standards. 2. Extremely rigid and rude breakfast staff Breakfast timings are from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. At around 10:30–10:31 a.m., my husband politely asked for water, which was refused simply because the clock had crossed 10:30 by a minute. He also requested that his bread be warmed, they warmed only one side and refused to flip it because, again, the clock had struck 10:31 a.m. This level of rigidity was shocking and completely against the spirit of hospitality. 3. Cold and dismissive reception staff We went to the reception desk to complain about the breakfast incident. The lady at the counter very coldly said, “Okay, I’ll check with the restaurant,” and never came back. There was no follow-up, no apology, and no effort to resolve the issue. The attitude throughout our stay was consistently indifferent and dismissive. 4. Lack of basic assistance during checkout At checkout, I was struggling with two large suitcases and was visibly close to falling while managing them alone. The staff member present merely held the door open and did not offer any help. This was embarrassing and upsetting, and it highlighted the complete lack of basic courtesy. 5. Experience of differential and discriminatory treatment Throughout our stay, we could not ignore the feeling that we were treated differently and unfairly, possibly due to our nationality or ethnicity. The staff avoided eye contact, and spoke in a consistently cold and distant manner. We observed noticeably warmer and more accommodating behavior toward other guests, while we were met with silence and rigidity. Whether intentional or not, this behavior came across as discriminatory and deeply hurtful, making us feel unwelcome throughout our stay. 6. Overall atmosphere There was no warmth, no smiles, and no sense of hospitality. Interactions felt mechanical and unwelcoming, which made the entire stay emotionally draining. Final thoughts- This was not just a disappointing stay, it was an experience that left us feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and humiliated. Hospitality is about basic human courtesy and warmth, both of which were completely missing at Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong. I would strongly caution international travelers and families to reconsider booking this hotel.
