Let Down by Noise, Housekeeping and Bar Experience Stayed: 1–4 December (Birthday Trip) This wasn’t our first stay with Ruby — we’ve previously stayed at the London hotel and really enjoyed the concept, which is what drew us to book Ruby Molly. Unfortunately, this stay fell short in several areas. 1. Noise from construction While not the hotel’s fault directly, there is major building work happening across the road. Our room (320) faced it full-on, and we were woken every morning around 7am by trucks reversing, jackhammers, and shouting. You would expect that, at least temporarily, guests might avoid rooms facing the works. There is a notice about this—however, it’s only in the elevator once you arrive, not on the website or mentioned at check-in. 2. Housekeeping issues We checked in on Monday, but no housekeeping came to our room until after 4pm on Wednesday — the day before we left. We hadn’t opted out of housekeeping for free drinks, so this was surprising. I had to ask a staff member, who said they would speak to a manager, but nothing happened. We ended up emptying our own bin on Tuesday and collecting clean towels ourselves on Wednesday. 3. Bar experience The bar doesn’t offer anything on tap; all beers are bottled and priced at €7–€8, which is the same as (or more than) the nearby pubs. Another small frustration: every time you pay at the bar, the card machine prompts for a tip — something I’d understand with table service, but not when ordering at the bar. Overall, the stay was disappointing, and unfortunately it left a bitter taste. For what was meant to be a birthday trip, we were glad to check out and head home. We are truly sorry to hear that your recent stay with us at Ruby Molly did not meet the expectations set by your previous experiences with Ruby Hotels — especially during a trip meant to celebrate a birthday. We sincerely apologise for the disturbance caused by the construction work across the street. Unfortunately, the works are carried out by the Dublin City Council on weekdays, and although this is beyond our control, we completely understand how disruptive it can be. We appreciate you highlighting that the notice in our lift is not sufficient, and we will review how we communicate this information in advance so guests can make informed choices when booking. Thank you as well for your comments regarding the bar. While we are primarily a cocktail bar — which is why our beer selection is intentionally small — we do offer Murphy’s on tap in addition to our bottled options. We know our drinks may not be the cheapest in town, but they are probably the tastiest. We have put a lot of thought into our bar menu, carefully selecting the finest Italian aperitifs, spirits, cocktails, and wines, sourced from local producers and artisans whenever possible. We are very sorry for the misunderstanding and inconvenience around your stayover cleaning. As you did not opt out of housekeeping, your room should certainly have been serviced, and it is disappointing to hear that this did not occur even after you raised it with our team. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we will address this with our housekeeping and front-of-house teams to ensure it does not happen again. Once again, we apologise that your stay fell short on several points. My friends and I had a meeting in the hotel hall last night and left really impressed. The staff were warm and attentive from the moment we arrived — Kevin in particular was a star, helping us get settled and making sure everything ran smoothly. The pizzas were delicious, and the whole place felt cosy and relaxed —perfect for a small gathering. Friendly service, good food, great atmosphere — highly recommend.

A bit of poor cleaning, our bottom sheet had dried makeup stains. Too bad we and our party couldn't get rooms on the same floor...
