Absolutely amazing. Took my partner for her birthday. The spa and hot tub experience was brilliant. The food was superb. The room had a beautiful view of the castle remains and the hills. The staff were friendly and helpful. Genuine 5 star feeling. Will look to go again soon. Thank you all.

It's always something to look forward to....a weekend away in a castle for a wedding anniversary! On the plus side. A fantastic building and grounds with free roaming peacocks. The partial ruins provide some great photo backdrops. Inside the castle is warm and cosy. The dining room is magnificent! A warm welcome and plenty of parking. On the downside 1. I booked a suite. It came with a bath, but there were no small bottles of bathfoam etc to add to the bath to make it feel luxurious. Also the tap was very slow running water. 2. There was no room service to replenish the tea/coffee/milk/biscuits used. That would have been nice and avoided the long walk to reception for a handful of milk cartons. 3. Dinner - very expensive wine list. No house bottles at around £24-£28.....nothing below £34 a bottle which seems excessive. 4. Unless we missed it, no obvious lounge bar to sit in and have afternoon coffee/drinks in comfy chairs etc. A few doors were closed that maybe hid them. There were a couple of small rooms hidden away near the dining room at the end of long corridors. 5. Extra charge for spa.....whilst advertising as a hotel and spa, and the fine print does say additional charge, it feels wrong to charge £25 per person if they want to use it. Much prefer to have every guest pay a little more on every booking, which allows guests free use (maybe book you slots on arrival etc). A small extra on booking would easily cover usage costs. 6 Breakfast on Monday morning had no hash browns no mushrooms and no tomato options that were there on Sunday. Also only croissants as the pastry option both days...felt a bit limited.
