As others have said, the slope is steep. The facilities are very old. The floor of the large public bath was so soft that I felt like I was about to step through it. I read in reviews that the amenities were plentiful, but all they had were toothbrushes and towels. There were no combs or razors. There was a hairdryer in the room. There are no convenience stores nearby. The closest is the Family Mart at the station, but it's small, so the selection isn't great. There's apparently a Lawson about a 10-minute walk away, but considering the slope to get there and back, I don't think it would be possible to walk there. p

I stayed at this hotel during my trip to Mie. The hotel is located on a hill overlooking JR Toba Station. My room was a Japanese-style room on the third floor, with a table and chairs, a great view from the window, and I was able to relax comfortably. There are two baths, which are switched in the morning and evening, so you can enjoy both. The Mirabath water has tiny bubbles (microbubbles), which warmed my body well and relieved my fatigue. For breakfast, I had a delicious Japanese bento box. This time, I was visiting Toshijima and Kamishima, so I was grateful to be allowed to park my car there for three days. I will definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity.

It's close to Toba Station, so it's a good base for sightseeing. I use this hotel when I go to Izushi Shrine. However, if you're walking instead of driving, the slope in front of the hotel is steep. Toba Station itself is only accessible by stairs, so having to carry your luggage up the slope afterwards can be quite tiring. The hotel is the epitome of the Showa era. I don't mind the drab atmosphere or Japanese-style rooms, so this is my second time staying here. Some people might complain about the cold corridors. Last time I stayed, I preferred the hot water in the large public bath, but this time it was just average, which was a bit disappointing. The bath is clean.
