Saigon Star Hotel

The only reason I didn't take a room at this hotel (after paying) was because of the horrible receptionist girl. This review is directed at you, the hotel managers: Are you not aware of the employees you employ ? Don't you look at the lobby cameras to see how your employees behave towards customers ? Don't you know that a bad employee can ruin the reputation of a good hotel ? Well, here's the full story: I arrived at the hotel on 17.2.26 around 11:40. I asked for the price of a room. The receptionist (I attached a picture) told me that the price is 700 VND. I politely asked to see the room before I paid. For some reason, I got a frown from her, as if this was an unusual and unreasonable request and a look as if I was bothering her with something. I asked her: What's the problem ? I will point out that I always ask to see the room before I pay, and I have never had a problem with this at any hotel, on the contrary. Her attitude was really bad towards me. The grumpy receptionist, instead of showing me the room herself, sent the hotel guard who works outside, to show me the room. The guard was very nice, smiling, and helpful unlike the receptionist. I saw the room and it was fine, I told the nice guard I would take it, and we went back down to the reception. I told the receptionist that I would pay for 3 days in front. I paid, about 2,100,000 VND and then she asked for my physical passport. Everywhere in Vietnam, I always show a photo of my passport and visa on my phone and there was NEVER a problem with it. But the receptionist rudely insisted on seeing the original, physical passport. I told her that it is okey, but my passport was in my big bag deep inside. I told her that I would go into the room (as mentioned, I had already paid) and check in, and I would give her the passport in the next hour. She did not agree. She told me that I should give her my passport now or she wouldn't let me in the room and would cancel the reservation. What?! I explained to her again that I couldn't unpack my big bag (120L) right now in the hotel lobby and take out all the bags inside to get her the passport, and that I would do it in the room in the next hour. I showed her my visa again and the valid passport on the phone but she insisted. We didn't reach an agreement, and I was also very shocked on her humiliating attitude towards customers who had just paid, her lack of trust in the customer, her disparaging and uneasy speech, and worst of all, she told me that she didn't want me to stay at the hotel after paying. What?! She's not even a manager! She's just a receptionist and that's what she tells customers who have just paid ?! So I canceled the hotel reservation (I got my money back) and went to another hotel with lovely customer service that values its customers. I should mention that I have been to Saigon in Vietnam many times, and I have never encountered such a rude, antipathetic, disgusting receptionist who disrespects customers. And she laughed when I commented on her attitude towards the hotel's customers, and made a laughing face that she really doesn't care what I think of her attitude and that I can go away from the hotel. I will add and say that even the parking at this hotel is not free for costumers & needed to be paid daily, another thing I have NEVER encountered in Vietnam. Hotel managers: Why do you employ people who sabotage your business ? Isn't that a shame ? What's the problem with being nice, not condescending, and helpful to a customer who comes to your hotel and wants to stay there ? If you value kind and nice treatment, then don't come to this hotel.

Old rooms, but straight forward and simple customer service. No long waiting time in check in and out

Everything is fine except for the fact that you have to pay to park your motorbike.
