Right in town to walk to restaurants and grocers. Room was spacious but couch was not comfortable and needs to be changed. We were only two people, but the two other chairs on the deck were falling apart. Also forgot to tell them to check room 401 dryer - it was the loudest thing I ever heard but it did work. The pools were nice and room had a great ocean view. Also used the gym a few times and all machines worked fine. Would recommend and stay again.

We recently stayed at Salt in Yeppoon and unfortunately the experience was awful from start to finish. On the drive up we were delayed over 5 hours due to a major traffic incident (a concrete truck crash), and during the trip I realised I had accidentally forgotten our 1-year-old’s travel cot (my mistake, I fully own that). Because of how late we were going to arrive, I called around 5pm to ask if there was any way we could access a cot or even just something safe like a sheet or bedding so my baby had somewhere to sleep. The woman I spoke to was cold, blunt and completely lacking empathy. There was no effort to offer a solution, no basic understanding that I was a stressed parent trying to safely settle a baby late at night. The conversation ended with her saying “perfect, all good” which honestly felt dismissive and rude considering the situation. We didn’t arrive until 1am and had to call the after-hours number for access. I was outside in the middle of the night trying to unload the car and carry my child and bags, while my partner went to collect the keys. The person on the phone refused to speak to him about the credit card details (even though it was a shared card) and demanded to speak to me instead — meaning I had to stop what I was doing and juggle the phone call while carrying everything. Again, no compassion or basic customer service, just unnecessary stress at 1 in the morning. When we finally entered the apartment, it was honestly shocking: • The place smelt like mould • The balcony/verandah was covered in tobacco ash • There was rubbish under the couch and under the bed • Worst of all, my toddler found a vape box under the bed, which is completely unacceptable and unsafe Between the attitude from staff and the cleanliness issues, we were left feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. I would not stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to families — especially anyone travelling with young children.
