We had stayed in 4 different hotels . This was the best. The breakfast was top class variety and quality. The vibes the set up. Worth an experience stay if visiting Mauritius. We were given a very exciting stay because of our honeymoon package given.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this hotel has been deeply disappointing and deserves to be shared. I had a confirmed reservation (Confirmation No: 4725SG080450) which I unfortunately had to cancel due to extraordinary circumstances completely outside of my control. Because of the current conflict affecting the UAE region, where I and my partner are residents of Dubai, my flights to Mauritius were cancelled and travel became impossible. This is not a simple change of plans or a personal preference — it is a situation created by a regional crisis. Despite explaining this clearly, showing proof of cancelation, the hotel refused any flexibility and strictly hid behind the “non-refundable, non-amendable” policy. While I fully understand that policies exist, good hospitality brands are expected to demonstrate basic empathy and goodwill when customers face genuine force majeure situations. What makes this even more frustrating is that I am a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member who travels frequently and has chosen Marriott-affiliated properties for years precisely because I believed they valued long-term customer loyalty and service. Unfortunately, this experience showed the exact opposite. To make matters worse, I also attempted to contact the Lux reservations call center multiple times over two days. I was repeatedly promised callbacks that never happened. The lack of follow-through and communication only added to the frustration. At a time when many travel companies are showing flexibility and supporting their customers during unpredictable global events, this hotel chose to prioritize keeping a payment rather than maintaining customer trust. Hospitality is not just about beautiful properties — it is about how guests are treated when things go wrong. Sadly, in this case, the response has been rigid, dismissive, and far below the level of service one would expect. Very disappointing experience. I sincerely hope the management reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future. Travelers deserve better. ❌

Review An absolutely exceptional stay at the Salt of Palmar in Mauritius. From the moment you arrive, every detail is meticulously planned to offer a refined yet welcoming experience. The hotel's amenities are remarkable: elegant rooms, perfectly comfortable bedding, tastefully decorated common areas, and a magnificent pool that invites relaxation. Every space exudes a commitment to quality and guest well-being. But what is perhaps even more striking is the kindness and professionalism of the staff. They are attentive, always smiling, and genuinely dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. You truly feel welcomed and supported throughout your visit. The included dining experience is simply excellent: fresh produce, inventive and perfectly executed cuisine, with remarkable presentation. And a special mention goes to the Tek-Tek restaurant. The experience there is unique: the chef cooks directly in front of the guests with impressive skill and passion. Each dish is a true culinary spectacle, precise, creative, and remarkably refined. The food rivals that of the finest gastronomic establishments. In short: a magnificent hotel, an exceptional team, and memorable cuisine. A must-visit address in Mauritius that I recommend without hesitation.
